Résumé : |
The primary functions of any wood finish (paint, varnish or stain) are to protect the wood surface, help in maintaining appearance, and provide a cleanable surface. Although wood can be used both outdoors and indoors without finishing, unfinished wood surfaces exposed to the elements generally change colour, are roughened by photo-degradation and surface checking, and slowly erode. Unfinished wood surfaces exposed indoors may also change colour as well as being more difficult to clean than finished wood. |
