Inxel pigment preparations show effective compatibility in all acrylate resins that were evaluated. The jetness values were always comparable or even higher compared to the corresponding powder pigment. The strong blue undertone in mastone applications and very good rub-out performance in tint demonstrate the excellent stability of the pigment preparations. Beside these acrylate resins also tests in alkyd and polyester systems were conducted. Here as well, very positive results were obtained. Meanwhile, various preparations based on Degusa pigment blacks can be offered in different jetness ranges. Step by step the colour range will be widened.Note de contenu : - Table : Selected acrylic resins

Titre : Modified silica for UV coatings Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Stephanie Frahn, Auteur ; Vlasta Valter, Auteur ; Gabriele Leder, Auteur Année de publication : 2001 Article en page(s) : p. 24-30 Note générale : Bibliogr. Langues : Anglais (eng) Résumé : The topic of this paper is the introduction of a new modified silica that gives an improvement of the mar resistance to UV-curing coating surfaces. By incorporation of 5 to 15% of this product an enhancement of the mar resistance between 10 to 35% can be realized. This fumed silica has been chemically and mechanically modified, which facilitates the incorporation of up to 20% of this silica into a binder as an active filler, using the customary dispersing methods. It has to be emphasized that neither the rheological properties of the liquid coatings nor the optical qualities of the cured films are negatively Influenced by using such high amounts of fumed silica.
