This lesture will give an overview of physical coating properties. In this issue and also in the future european caoting journals one or more definitions are explained by Philip Green : the most common terms, their meanings, usage in simple and easy to understand manner. Revêtements -- AdditifsIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : The author outlines ways in which companies can formulate cost-effective sheen and side sheen products with improved stain resistance and ease of stain removal properties.
Ease of cleaning and stain removal are qualities that are high on the agenda when developing new premium quality decorative coatings. In many markets this attribute is juged by the scrub or wear (how easy or difficult it is to remove or how much film weight is lost after so many abrasion cycles) resistance of the coating (the standards vary from region to region but are normally set as so many % film weight loss after a set number of cycles). However in many markets (e.g. North America, some parts of the Asia Pacific region) this attribute is now being judged differently. It is now important whether or not the paint film is prone to staining (with readily available, common household stains) and whether such stains are easily removed by gentle cleaning.Note de contenu : - EVALUATION
