Résumé : |
An opaque polymer is a polymer, which obliterates the surface when added in the paint formulation, by replacing partially TiO2 or Al - silicate, to maintain properties at lower raw material cost and hence increase profitability. In fact, opaque polymers are best understood if they are considered as pigments, because they perform a similar function as that of the pigments. In this review paper we can get an idea about, opacity and its principle; scattering of light: effect of particle size; air voids and its theory; crowding effect; structure of opaque polymer; application and formulation guideline details; benefits of opaque polymer. |
