Avions -- Revêtements:Avions -- PeintureIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Corrosion remains a significant threat to aircraft structural integrity ; it can reduce section thicknesses, generate corrosion-related cracks, and create stress concentrations which act as sites for fatigue cracking. The presence of corrosion induced cracking can shorten the overall crack growth life, and perhaps more significantly, lead to fatigue cracking in areas which would not normally be regarded as critical. Current corrosion-damage maintenance procedures are usually based on a policy of fin-and-fix which often involves the complete stripping of an aircraft coating system to permit visual inspection of the outer skin of the aircraft, or the disassembly of structure to assist inspection. All these activities are costly and may significantly aircraft flett readiness. Note de contenu : COATING PROPERTIES : 1. Corrosion protective properties - 2. Optical properties - 3. Mechanical properties plus chemical/solvent resistance - 4. Exterior durability and property maintenance in exposure - 5. Film thickness : Interaction of sol-gel network with metal surfaces and with the primer or topcoat. Permalink : https://e-campus.itech.fr/pmb/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=10495

SurfactantsIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : The "Surfactant" is a general term for surface active agent, which reduces the surface tension between solid-solid interfaces, solid liquid interface & liquid-liquid interface. Surfactants have multiple uses in aqueous coatings. In this review paper, Introduction of surfactant, structure of surfactant & types of surfactant are reviewed. The paper also consists of application of surfactant in aqueous coatings & selection of the proper surfactant. The paper also consists troubles faced during selection of proper surfactant. This paper also covers the H.L.B.(Hydrophilic lipophilic balance) value, which is an indication of the solubility of the surfactant & its determination. Note de contenu : - Structure of surfactant
- Types of surfactants : Anionic, cationic, amphoteric and non-ionic surfactants.
- Selection of surfactant
- How do we determine the "HLB value" of a surfactant ?
- HLB range
- Application : Wetting agent.

Polymérisation en émulsionTags : 'Polymérisation en miniémulsion' Gouttelette Hybride 'Structure des particules polymère' Index. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Miniemulsion polymerization is an efficient way to generate nano sized reactor system stabilized in the continuous phase. The oil droplets dispersed in water (O/W emulsions), are processed under high shear force to increase the interfacial area by reducing the droplet size in the range of 50 nm to 500 nm. These oil droplets are separated from each other through continuous phase, acts as nano reactor for polymerization. The typical emulsions are stabilized against Ostwald ripening and collisional degradation by using surfactant and low molecular wejght highly water insoluble co-stabilizer. The droplet should have sufficient stablllty belore polymerization, which will result in 1:1 copy of droplets to particles. This method is very different from the conventional method in terms of nucleation mechanism. This engineeied method enables to create structured colloidal particles having different morphology. The miniemulsion process can be usednot only for radical polymerization but also for poly-adddion and poly-condensation to make variety of polymer, copolymer, organic-inorganic hybrid etc. The reaction starts at the individual nano sized droplets for O/W emulsions that also makes easier for solid encapsulation inside the polymeric particles. The review shows the mechanism of the process and related robustness of the polymerization in different aspects. The different ways to stabilize the droplets before polymerization has also been reviewed. Note de contenu : - Preparation of miniemulsion.
- Mechanism of miniemulsion polymerization and difference from the conventional emulsion.
- Droplet stability of miniemulsion.
- Shearing methods.
- Robustness of the process.
- Generation of structured nano latex by miniemulsion polymerization : Hybrid latex - Engineered latexes - Encapsulated latex - Inorganic miniemulsion.Permalink : https://e-campus.itech.fr/pmb/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=10497
