Polyméthacrylate d'hydroxyéthyleIndex. décimale : 675 Technologie du cuir et de la fourrure Résumé : In the present work, Reactive Red 120-attached poly (2-hydroxy ethyl methacrylate) nanoparticles (PHEMA-RR120) were synthesized as an adsorbent for the removal of the proteins albumin and globulin. PHEMA nanoparticles were first prepared by surfactant-free emulsion polymerisation. The dye ligand Reactive Red 120 was chemically attached to the PHEMA nanoparticles via a nucleophilic substitution reaction. Characterisation of the PHEMA-RR120 nanoparticles was carried out by specific surface area, dry mass weight of the nanoparticle, SEM, FTIR and Zeta Size analysis. Albumin and globulin adsorption of PHEMA-RR120 nanoparticles was investigated with respect to process conditions (temperature, pH, time, initial concentration and ionic strength), and the re-usability of PHEMA-RR120 was also determined. The albumin and globulin protein adsorption of PHEMA-RR120 nanoparticles was found to be respectively 24.60g/g and 3.95g/g at 25°C, 12.58g/g and 3.86g/g at 37°C, 11.45g/g and 2.69g/g at 45°C. The results show that PHEMA-RR120 nanoparticles can be used for the effective, reusable removal of albumin and globulin due to their large surface area and high adsorption capacity.

The effect of a prepared waterborne organic corrosion inhibitor with the best formula of each binder was studied. The role of binders on the corrosion inhibition of steel in the absence and presence of the corrosion inhibitor was studied. Physical, chemical, and mechanical properties, weight loss, corrosion resistance, and water up-take tests in the absence and presence of the corrosion inhibitor revealed that the protective properties of the three binders used at their optimum PVC against corrosion could be arranged in the following order: short oil alkyd > Urabrid AC 100 > acrylic emulsion resins. The prepared corrosion inhibitor showed excellent inhibition efficiency with the three used binders.

Revêtements organiquesIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : The evaluation of the dirt resistance of organic coatings according to traditional accelerated methods (e.g., the standard method GB/T 9780-2013 in China) usually provides results which deviate from their real-world performance in seriously polluted environments. As an alternative, a novel adsorption method with methyltrimethoxysilane-modified rice-straw ash as the artificial dirt standard was proposed in this paper. With this method, the ash was dispersed into the air in a testing chamber and then allowed to physically adsorb to the coating, which is believed to more accurately simulate the adsorption behavior of floating particulates outdoors. Two groups of latex coatings from Dow Chemical Company were employed to evaluate the adsorption method by monitoring the changes in color, whiteness, and reflectivity. In parallel, outdoor exposure testing of these coatings was conducted. The influences of charging method, of ash type, and panel position on the testing results were carefully investigated. Multicharging of ash (9 g × 3) and parallel panels at different positions in the testing chamber are designed for the generation of repeatable results. It was demonstrated that the adsorption method basically matched the outdoor exposure results and was more predictive of real-world results than GB/T 9780-2013.
