Résumé : |
Over the past few decades, high solid resins have gained wide spread acceptance in the surface coating industries, as these are used successfully in high solid coating for improved performances and meeting volatile organic compound (VOC) regulations. In this paper, different techniques of preparation for high solid alkyds, acrylics, polyesters and polyurethanes have been discussed. The role of hydrogen bond acceptor solvents, and reactive diluents in the preparation of alkyd and polyester resins are mentioned here. The effect of molecular weight distribution, polydispersity and functionality of the polyols and polybasic acids have been discussed for these resins. The effect of different synthesis conditions and formulation parameters has been discussed in the preparation ofthermosetting acrylic resins. The use of star oligomers based on trimethylol propane, oligopropylenediol and oxazolidine has been discussed in preparation of polyurethane resins having high non volatile contents. |
