Résumé : |
The novolac resins were prepared by reacting cardanol with formaldehyde. The molar ratios taken with respect to cardanol to formaldehyde were 1:0.6, 1:0.7, 1:0.8 and 1:0.9. These resins were characterized by I.R. spectroscopy for determining respective functional groups in the resin structure, and Gel Permeation Chromatography (GPC) was used to determine the molecular weights of the prepared novolac resins. These resins were found to possess ortho-ortho and ortho-para linkages. The curing characteristics of the resins showed that the resin prepared with molar ratio 1:0.8 has good curing characteristics. |
