A new "single shot" HAA-cured system allows low and reproducible gloss levels to be obtained by mixing two specific polyester resins together before extrusion. Among them, those which use grinding media (media mills) are of paramount importance. Understanding the grinding mechanisms operating in these mills and the factors influencing their operational efficiency is essential while choosing processing machinery for a particular application. In addition to that, knowing about the various types of grinding media, their pros & cons, mechanism of energy transfer by the media into the mill base and various factors which influence the same would be an added advantage.
