Résumé : |
Compositions suitable for self-emulsifying technology (liquid epoxy resin + water-soluble amine-type hardener) of 2-part ambient cured waterborne epoxy paints and their possible modification to achieve better application and service properties are discussed. Framework for such a modification, which particularly employs the blending of different grades of epoxy resins and water-soluble hardeners, introduction of polymer modifiers and functional additives, is analyzed in terms of colloid behavior of these paints, focusing on the main steps of self-emulsifying technology : resin/hardener co-emulsification, induction period, in-pot life and film-forming process. |
