Résumé : |
Considering the growing awareness of the volatile organic compound (VOC) regulations and imperative development of waterborne surface coatings, a series of low VOC hydrophilically modified anionic aqueous polyurethane dispersions (PUDs) were prepared. The effect of aliphatic, cycloaliphatic and aromatic isocyanates (hard domains) on the coating properties of waterborne PUDs was studied extensively with regard to mechanical and performance properties. As the aromatic structure in polymer matrix increased the tensile strength increased remarkably where as elongation % decreased but the trend in this case was not so very distinct. The reactivity of isocyanate showed significant impact on bulk mechanical properties rather than surface mechanical properties. |
