Langues : Anglais (eng) Index. décimale : 667.3 Teinture et impression des tissus Résumé : Although initially lagging behind the USA, the amount and quality of research and development carried out in the UK can be compared favourably with that from other major world countries. The industrial research association, although a well-conceived concept to increase research and development efforts that gave significant results, was disappointing for several reasons. A major problem has been the dissemination, exploitation and commercialisation of research results. The activities of research organisations need to be reviewed regularly, as they may have a relatively short lifespan. The intermediate research and technology sector, given adequate support, may be the vehicle for better utilisation of research and development results. Langues : Anglais (eng) Index. décimale : 667.3 Teinture et impression des tissus Résumé : Colorimetric matching is employed under a series of virtual illuminants to produce more controllable and equalised colour-difference results under multiple illuminants. A method based on weighted principal component analysis of different artificial lights and the weighted mean is used to create a series of virtual illuminants. The weights were selected in a manner to create the virtual illuminants that benefit from the impact of a given illuminant, while the effects of other light sources on the formation of desired illuminants were also considered. The generated virtual illuminants were implemented in a colorimetric colour-matching trial. Using this method, by choosing suitable weights for different lighting conditions, more balanced colour-difference values were presented in the data set than was expected. The advantages of the suggested method were evaluated by the matching of a collection of 135 woollen samples under different virtual illuminants. Langues : Anglais (eng) Index. décimale : 667.3 Teinture et impression des tissus Résumé : A pyrazinedinitrile derivative carrying dimethylaminoethylsulphanyl groups at positions 5 and 6 was
synthesised from 2-dimethylaminoethanethiol hydrochloride and 2,3-dicarbonitrile-5,6-dichloropyrazine. The dicarbonitrile gave magnesium azaphthalocyanine (MgAzaPc) when reacted with magnesium propoxide in propanol. The conversion of the MgAzaPc to a metal-free derivative was achieved by treatment with trifluoroacetic acid. Incorporation of transition metal ions into the inner core of azaphthalocyanine was accomplished by treatment of the metal-free derivative with metal acetates, i.e. Zn(OAc)2, Co(OAc)2. These azaphthalocyanines were converted into water-soluble quaternised products by reaction with methyl iodide. Aggregation phenomena were followed for magnesium
azaphthalocyanine with quaternisable dimethylamino substituents within a specific range of pH. The compounds were characterised by Fourier transform–infrared, proton nuclear magnetic resonance, mass and ultraviolet–visible spectral data.DOI : 10.1111/j.1478-4408.2008.00171.x En ligne : http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/j.1478-4408.2008.00171.x/pdf Format de la ressource électronique : Permalink : https://e-campus.itech.fr/pmb/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=4821

Langues : Anglais (eng) Index. décimale : 667.3 Teinture et impression des tissus Résumé : A low-cost four-colour (RBYK) dye-based ink-jet printing system for textiles was introduced in this study, in which red and blue inks were employed instead of the magenta and cyan inks used in half-tone printing. The basis of a colour-management system for this device was developed by determining the mapping between XYZ tristimulus values of output colours and the digital RBYK values using polynomial transforms. A second-order equation was found to give the best performance with an average characterisation error of under 7 CIELAB units. Titre : Colour matching by principal component analysis-based spectrophotometric technique Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Ali Shams Nateri, Auteur Année de publication : 2009 Article en page(s) : p. 36-42 Note générale : Bibliogr. Langues : Anglais (eng) Index. décimale : 667.3 Teinture et impression des tissus Résumé : One of the most important aspects of the physics of colour is colour matching and recipe prediction. In this work, a new method is presented to evaluate the concentration of dyes in textile fabrics. The algorithm of the new technique is based on principal component analysis and single constant spectrophotometric matching methods. Using the normal spectrophotometric matching method, match prediction is carried out at three and 16 wavelengths. With the new algorithm, 3, 6, 9, 12 and 16 principal components are used in spectral match prediction. The performance of the new method improves with increasing numbers of principal components. In addition, the recipe prediction accuracy of the new method with three principal components is better than spectrophotometric matching at three wavelengths. The accuracy of principal component analysis–spectrophotometry with 16 principal components is comparable with the normal spectrophotometric matching method at 16 wavelengths. Langues : Anglais (eng) Index. décimale : 667.3 Teinture et impression des tissus Résumé : In the continuous dyeing of polyester/cellulose blends, the trend over the last 20 years, towards shorter production runs and greater numbers of fashion shades, has led to the development of more productive processes, in particular, the use of a one-pass pad–dry–thermofix process for the application of disperse and reactive dyes. However, there are limitations to such a one-pass process, of which the most important is the limited colour depth that can be achieved on polyester/unmercerised cotton blends. The current study examines the reasons for this limitation, with a view to either modifying the dyeing process or designing superior dyes. Langues : Anglais (eng) Index. décimale : 667.3 Teinture et impression des tissus Résumé : One of the limitations of DyStar's TTN one-pass continuous dyeing process for dyeing polyester/unmercerised cotton blends with disperse and reactive dyes is its inability to achieve heavy depths economically and part 1 of this study indicated that the limitation could be attributed to the reactive dye [1]. In this study, the constituents of the pad liquor were varied to determine if the visual colour yield of selected reactive dyes could be improved. In so doing, it was possible to speculate whether the low colour yield from some of the reactive dyes used in the TTN process was as a result of inefficient 'delivery' of the dye to the reactive sites on the cotton.
