In addition, the content of monomers in resins and hardeners can be reduced through optimised production processes. With improved polyester resins, the powder coating manufacturer can formulate powder coatings that enable paint shops to handle powder coatings more safely. A new "single shot" HAA-cured system allows low and reproducible gloss levels to be obtained by mixing two specific polyester resins together before extrusion. Gloss is controlled by selection on the polyesters and their mixing ratio. The definition of scratch resistance according to DIN describes the resistance of paint films under defined conditions towards point-like, linear or two-dimensional loads. Checking the quality of the adhesion of paints is a special metrological challenge, that's why a large number of specific procedures exist in the audit practice.
