Titre : Assessing ageing quantitatively Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Johannes Wolfrum, Auteur ; Uwe Scherer, Auteur ; Sebastian Eibl, Auteur ; Wilhelm Fürst, Auteur Année de publication : 2005 Article en page(s) : p. 94-96 Note générale : Bibliogr. Langues : Anglais (eng) Index. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : Ageing test - The demands made on the ageing properties of a plastic will depend very much on the particular application. In military applications, components may have to continue functioning reliably even after several decades. Consequently, it will frequently be necessary to examine the ageing behaviour of a material very closely. Because, in most cases, it is almost impossible to predict or individually research natural ageing conditions, any statement about long-term applications based on accelerated testing is still rather dubious. Titre : Lightweight and corrosion-resistant Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Johannes Wolfrum, Auteur Année de publication : 2003 Article en page(s) : p. 50-51 Langues : Anglais (eng) Index. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : Fibre-reinforced plastics - The use of fibre-reinforced plastics in land vehicles could have advantages over metals on account of the high potential they offer for lightweight construction and their excellent corrosion resistance. A precondition for this, however, is that both the manufacturing costs and the damage tolerance vis-à -vis stressing under the action of force must correspond approximately to those for a metal construction.
