Résumé : |
A flexible polyphthalamide (PPA) has been specifically designed to replace metal in tubing in the engine compartment of automobiles. This new class of polyphthalamides combines the high-temperature resistance of conventional grades with a flexibility unprecedented in this class of materials. While offering increasing greater design freedom, this polymer solution slashes the overall system costs. Since the new polyphthalamide family readily lends itself to all processing technologies (tubing extrusion, extrusion blow molding, injection molding), functions can be additionally integrated. What is more, thanks to its high content of renewable raw materials, the high-performance polyamide also dovetails with the increasing environmental commitment of the automotive industry. |
