Titre : Forming and assembly in one process Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Ernst Schmachtenberg, Auteur ; Marcus Schuck, Auteur ; Ines Kühnert, Auteur Année de publication : 2007 Article en page(s) : p. 8-13 Note générale : Bibliogr. Langues : Anglais (eng) Index. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : Assembly injection moulding - Through choice of the combination of materials, the geometry of the part to be made and the injection moulding parameters the properties of the joints produced in assembly injection moulding can be selectively set: integral, form-fitting or frictional or mobile and flexible. Current research work shows the relationship between the boundary conditions of the process and the properties of the joint. In terms of process engineering, the biggest savings in mass production can be achieved by reducing cycle time to a minimum. Jacob has developed and tested new processes (FIT-Hybrid and SpriForm) which combines moulding, forming and joining processes in a single process step. The new process also achieves high-level functional integration, made possible thanks to the high degree of design flexibility of thermoplastic based, endless-fibre reinforced composites, as well as the utilisation of the excellent processing possibilities that these materials offer. The key benefit of the invention is, that in addition to the lightweight potential of the used materials, this process offers an extraordinary potential of lightweight due to the combination with structural design.
