There are solid particles added to latex formulations for a variety of reasons. Each of the types of solid particles has their own need for analysis and testing. These solid particles have a variety of effects on the formulation, both in the fluid state and in the final dry film. There are also several classes of these solid particles. We shall discuss the analysis/testing needs, the effects to be expected upon addition of the particles, and the particle classes, as separate sections. |
