This technology can be generally applied to the preparation of polyisocyanates with lower viscosity than can be achieved through conventional adduct formation (e.g. trimerization, biuretization, etc.). Such polyisocyanates can be prepared from all commercially available diisocyanates : HDI, IPDI, and H12MDI. This paper reviews the performance of coatings crosslinked with the various AMTs alone and in blends. The key emphases of this paper are performance comparisons of coatings based on isocyanurates (trimers) and AMTs, and the advantages achieved by blending novel cycloaliphatic polyisocyanate resins with other polyisocyanates to reach an optimum level of coatings properties. These formulations can be applied by conventional spray equipment and are a viable liquid alternate to powder coatings. Using conventional liquid spray equipment, the capital investment for the installation of a new powder coating line can be avoided. With modification, these coatings can be diluted with water and thickened with conventional cellulosic thickeners used in waterborne coatings. In this study we will discuss the influence of key formulating variables like epoxy/hydroxyl mole ratio, catalyst concentration, polyol molecular weight and polydispersity on coating properties. Viscosity reduction and sag resistance are also discussed. Note de contenu : - Raw materials

The POT-CdO nanoparticle composite coating was synthesized on mild steel from aqueous tartrate solution containing CdO-nanoparticles (size ~18 nm) by using cyclic voltammetry. These coatings were characterized by cyclic voltammetry, UV–Visible absorption spectroscopy, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy, and X-ray diffraction measurements. The corrosion protection aspects of the resulting POT-CdO nanocomposite structure were investigated in aqueous 3% NaCl solution by potentiodynamic polarization technique and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. The results of these investigations reveal that the POT-CdO nanoparticle composite acts as a protective coating on mild steel and reduces the corrosion rate of mild steel almost by factor of 70.
