Note de contenu : - Reactivity among tannins and ferric cation as a function of pH

But all these highly sophisticated methods can only be performed by specialists. Especially, quality assurance departments are looking for a method that can be applied as directly as possible in-line, in the coating and printing process, and which is in particular easy to handle. The ion mobility spectrometry can be regarded as such a method as this article shows. Besides describing this method examples are given on its use in different printing processes. The manufacture ofacrylate is an equilibrium controlled esterification reaction and water ofesterification must be removed as fast as possible to enhance the reaction rate. Lower acrylates (C4 and below) and higher acrylates (above C4) are manufactured by different procedures. Manufacture of 2-ethyl hexyl acrylate using sulfuric acid as catalyst is described here. The process can be carried out using ion exchange catalyst as discussed in the later part. Apart from the removal of water the other technical difficulties are polymerization of acrylic acid and its ester, handling of the reactants and products due to their toxic nature. Some aspects of polymerization inhibitors and handling and storage of these chemicals are highlighted here. Note de contenu : - Manufacture of acrylic acid

It is water insoluble and occurs membrane bound in the cells of Serratia marcescens, which is gram negative bacterium. As the parent strain of Serratia marcescens NRRL B284 was found to be unstable in its pigment synthesising ability, an attempt was therefore made to derive UV stable mutants employing UV induced mutagenesis. Out of seven mutants derived, a lone mutant designed M2 was found to be most promising both in terms of stable pigment producing characters as well as faster growth rates in select synthetic medium compared to the rest of the mutants. Studies on mutant M2 constitue optimisation of Carbon:Nitrogen ratio in the synthetic medium selected, followed by studies on feeding salts of trace cations during cell cultivation (as nutrient modifiers) to explore further (if any), scope for improving the UV stability of the pigment synthesised. The role/contribution towards UV stability by trace cations e.g. Mo++, Ti++, Fe++, Ni++, Co++ and Zn++ were investigated. Select UV stable pigments were evaluated for their performance in two types of air drying paints, with intersting results with respect to colour and gloss retention Note de contenu : HISTORY OF PROIDOGIOSIN
