Tannage organiqueIndex. décimale : 675.2 Préparation du cuir naturel. Tannage Résumé : This article studies the influence of mineral and organic tanning methods on a set of physico-mechanical, thermophysical and hygienic properties of pigskin. The dialdehyde method of tanning with subsequent anionic polymer filling provides the formation of a homogeneous porous structure of leather in various topographical areas with the necessary set of structural and performance characteristics. The described tanning technologies provide the formation of leather with appropriate hydrothermal resistance and adequate elastic-plastic properties. It meets the standard requirements for garment leather DSTU 3115-95. The resulting leather can be recommended for the manufacture of wide range goods, including chrome tanned for spring-summer goods and the dialdehyde tanned for autumn-winter goods.

Tannage Résumé : A new combination tanning system based on tetrakis (hydroxymethyl) phosphonium sulfate (THPS) and chromium as a chrome saver approach has been developed. The shrinkage temperature of the leathers obtained was 110°C. The tanning system is versatile in terms of processing both upper and garment leathers. The physical strength characteristics and organoleptic properties of the leathers obtained are comparable to that of chrome tanned leather. Environmental impact assessment shows that there is significant reduction in effluent (TS and sulfate) load when compared to conventional chrome tanning. The molecular level studies show that high level of enzymatic stability is imparted to collagen stabilized using Cr-THPS combination tanning. Mechanistic insights into the stability of collagen against collagenase have been addressed by studying the conformational changes occuring in collagen and collagenase as a result of interaction with Cr-THPS using circular dichroism (CD). The triple helical conformation of collagen is not altered due to interaction with Cr-THPS. Changes in the conformation of collagenase have been observed; which indicates that Cr-THPS stabilizes collagen by altering the conformation of the enzyme. Note de contenu : EXPERIMENTAL METHODS :

Tannage organiqueIndex. décimale : 675.2 Préparation du cuir naturel. Tannage Résumé : The graft copolymer retanning material of degraded starch and vinyl monomers was synthesized by graft copolymerization of acrylic acid (AA), acrylonitrile (AN) and acrylamide (AM) on starch with ammonium persulfate ((NH4)2S2O8) as initiator. The effect of the mass concentration of starch, vinyl monomers and initiator on the graft yield, the graft efficiency, the monomer conversion and tannage properties were investigated. The structure of the graft copolymer was characterized by Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR). The application test was carried out on goat leather. Note de contenu : - Materials

Tannage organiqueIndex. décimale : 675.2 Préparation du cuir naturel. Tannage Résumé : Diethanolamine, epichlorohydrin (ECH), and lysine were used to change the traditional synthesis route to address the formaldehyde emission issue of melamine resin (MR), and a novel waterborne MR retanning agent with ultralow formaldehyde content (MUF) was finally obtained. The structure of MUF was characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, 13C nuclear magnetic resonance, and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, and its retanning performances in wet-blue and wet-white leathers were thoroughly investigated. Results showed that the formaldehyde content of MUF was 28.05 mg/kg, which was greatly lower than that of traditional MR (3550.23/2543.45 mg/kg), and the formaldehyde contents of chrome- and TWLZ-tanned leathers retanned by MUF were only 12.68 and 8.98 mg/kg, respectively. The thickening rates of MUF-retanned leather were up to 13.40% (chrome-tanned leather) and 9.58% (TWLZ-tanned leather), and MUF showed a satisfying overall performance in retanning leather. MUF is highly promising in practical application owing to its ultralow formaldehyde content, excellent stability in aqueous solution, and satisfactory retanning behaviors. Tannage organiqueIndex. décimale : 675.2 Préparation du cuir naturel. Tannage Résumé : In this work, a triazine tanning agent of 4-((4,6-dichloro-1,3,5-triazin-2-yl)amino) benzenesulfonic acid (SAT) was prepared with cyanuric chloride and sodium p-aminobenzene sulfonate, its structure was confirmed by FTIR spectroscopy, and its tanning property was investigated. The results indicate that SAT can raise the Ts of tanned skin to around 75°C at the optimised dosage of 3%. The stability of tanned leather was tested by washing with aqueous solution of 10w% urea, lOw% NaCI and 14 acetone. The results of washing show that the tanned leather of SAT has excellent stability and there are stable covalent bond interactions between SAT and collagen fibres. Based on the results of washing and the structure characteristics of SAT, a tanning mechanism of SAT was given in which the second Cl and the third CI on the triazine ring can both react with collagen fibres under mild tanning conditions of 35°C to 45°C.
