NanofibresIndex. décimale : 677.46 Cellulosiques : rayonnes, acetates Résumé : The condensation product of 5-methoxy-salicylaldehyde with hydrazine hydrate (referred to below as compound 1) was used as a ligand in a cellulose acetate electrospun nanofibrous mat to determine copper ions in aqueous solutions. The electrospun nanofibrous mats, based on cellulose acetate mixed with compound 1, were constructed using an electrospinning method and had a diameter of 260 nm. The sensing nanofibrous mat exhibited a sensitive and selective response for Cu(II) ions over a linear concentration range of 1-30 µM in a 0.1 M HEPES buffer (pH 7.4) using a colorimeter. The detection limit of the method was 1.04 µM lower than the maximum level of Cu(II) in drinking water (16 µM, as determined by the US Environmental Protection Agency). Additionally, it exhibited high selectivity for Cu(II) ions over 13 other cations. The sensing nanofibrous mat was fully reversible for ethylenediamine tetraacetic acid treatment cycles. Preliminary results indicated the sensitivity and selectivity of the nanofibrous mat for detecting Cu(II) ions by naked-eye detection from yellow to orange. The reaction product of compound 1 and the Cu(II) ion was studied using X-ray absorption spectroscopy. The Cu-coordination number was approximately 5.023 ± 1.42, and the Cu–N distance (R) was 1.986 Å. The nanofibrous mat demonstrated a convenient and straightforward Cu(II) ion-detection technique in both wastewater and water environments.
H 2 S O 4 + H 2 O ⇌ H 3 O + + H S O 4 − {\displaystyle \mathrm {H_{2}SO_{4}\ +\ H_{2}O\ \rightleftharpoons \ H_{3}O^{+}\ +\ HSO_{4}^{-}} } {\displaystyle \mathrm {H_{2}SO_{4}\ +\ H_{2}O\ \rightleftharpoons \ H_{3}O^{+}\ +\ HSO_{4}^{-}} }
la protonation de l’isobutène dans la formation d’une carbocation :
( C H 3 ) 2 C {\displaystyle \mathrm {(CH_{3})_{2}C} } {\displaystyle \mathrm {(CH_{3})_{2}C} }= C H 2 + H B F 4 ⇌ ( C H 3 ) 3 C + + B F 4 − {\displaystyle \mathrm {CH_{2}\ +\ HBF_{4}\ \rightleftharpoons \ (CH_{3})_{3}C^{+}\ +\ BF_{4}^{-}} } {\displaystyle \mathrm {CH_{2}\ +\ HBF_{4}\ \rightleftharpoons \ (CH_{3})_{3}C^{+}\ +\ BF_{4}^{-}} }
la protonation d’un ammoniac dans la formation de chlorure d’ammonium depuis l’ammoniac et le chlorure d'hydrogène :
N H 3 + H C l ⇌ N H 4 + + C l − {\displaystyle \mathrm {NH_{3}\ +\ HCl\ \rightleftharpoons \ NH_{4}^{+}\ +\ Cl^{-}} } {\displaystyle \mathrm {NH_{3}\ +\ HCl\ \rightleftharpoons \ NH_{4}^{+}\ +\ Cl^{-}} }.Index. décimale : 667.3 Teinture et impression des tissus Résumé : In the current work, we investigate the mechanism of protonation of a Meisenheimer complex derived from picric acid and N,N'-dicyclohexylcarbodiimide to provide the correct structure of the protonated Meisenheimer complex with the proper mechanism. A substituted picramide derivative has also been synthesised and characterised using various spectroscopic techniques to rule out the previously suggested protonated Meisenheimer complexes and support our proposed protonated structure. Various other investigations, including the interactions of the Meisenheimer complex with bulky electrophile Lawesson's reagent and bulky Lewis acid Eu(fod)3, were also carried out to support the mechanism of protonation. Various bulky bases as well as bases of different strengths were treated with the protonated Meisenheimer complex to support our proposed structure. Based on the protonation of the Meisenheimer complex, a general colorimetric volatile acid sensor has been designed, where a distinct colour change from orange to colourless was found to take place after protonation. The sensor can detect volatile acids both in the solid and in the solution state. The sensor was also applied to detect hydrogen chloride vapour in an automated manner using a smartphone, where information regarding the leakage position can be obtained through wireless communication. The detection limit of hydrogen chloride vapour was found to be 43.5 ppm. Note de contenu : - EXPERIMENTAL : Materials - Synthesis of compound 1a - Synthesis of compound 5 - Characterisation methods

Retannage
Tannage synthétiqueIndex. décimale : 675.2 Préparation du cuir naturel. Tannage Résumé : Amino resins have many applications including leather retanning. Being condensation products of formaldehyde, amino resins are one of the sources of free formaldehyde in leather. ln this work novel glyoxylated melamine resins were produced to make formaldehyde-free leather. The optimised process of synthesis was used to produce stable resins which were able to polymerise further in situ at retanning pH conditions. Water solubility of the resins was achieved by using various aromatic sulfonating agents including, orthanilic acid (ONA), metanilic acid (MNA), sulfanilic acid (SNA) and aniline 2,5-disulfonic acid (ADS). Synthesised resins were used in leather retanning to evaluate their comparative mechanical properties, organoleptic properties, free formaldehyde content and SEM analysis. The effluent of each retanning bath was also analysed for pollution load studies. All the resins showed improvements in mechanical and organoleptic properties in comparison with a commercial melamine resin but, the novel resin MGSNA exhibited remarkable results.
Estimation of free formaldehyde content showed absence of free formaldehyde content in leather and retanning effluent of all the novel resins. Determination of COD, TDS and TSS of effluent confirmed a significant reduction in pollution load due to improved exhaustion of resins attributed to their in-situ polymerisation in collagen fibres to enhance their fixation.
SEM analysis of leather confirmed improvements in retanning results due to formation of more orderly arranged networks of collagen fibres. Moreover, the introduction of an aromatic ring in the resin structure resulted in improved thermal stability of the resins. The results indicate that this development is remarkable for production of formaldehyde-free leather with improved retanning properties along with reduction in water pollution. This work also addresses the carcinogenic effects of formaldehyde.Note de contenu : - EXPERIMENTAL PROCEDURE : Chemicals and apparatus - Synthesis of novel melamine-glyoxal resins
