Teinture -- Fibres textilesIndex. décimale : 667.3 Teinture et impression des tissus Résumé : Cotton and wool fabrics were dyed with nine natural dyes obtained by aqueous extraction of the original plants/insect in an attempt to reconstruct traditional textile dyeing recipes, to optimise the methodology at all stages, i.e. extraction, mordanting and dyeing, and to standardise it. Cochineal, madder, alkanna, henna, brazilwood, red sandalwood, safflower, indigo and logwood were used for the dyeings, which were carried out directly and after mordanting of the textile material. A variety of mordants, namely, aluminium potassium sulphate, potassium dichromate, copper sulphate, zinc chloride, iron(iii) chloride, iron(ii) sulphate and tin chloride, is anticipated to meet both early and recent requirements and options. The dyeings were evaluated through colour measurements and standard wash, light and rub fastness tests. Generally, the mordanting process known for many centuries and connected with the textile dyeing resulted in an improvement in dye absorption and fastness properties mainly for the cotton samples, as is concluded from the tests and measurement assessments. Teinture -- Fibres textilesIndex. décimale : 667.3 Teinture et impression des tissus Résumé : Plants that are available from various regions of Greece were investigated as sources of natural dyes in a paper-dyeing operation. The production of natural dyes was achieved by aquatic extraction of plant materials in order to obtain an environmentally friendly method of producing the dyes. The extracted dyes were applied on de-inked mechanical pulp. A broad variation in shade and colour depth was achieved by applying mixtures of plant extracts in various combinations. The produced colours were found to lie in the first and second quadrant of a two-dimensional chromatic diagram. Note de contenu : - Production of the de-inked mechanical pulp

vision des couleursIndex. décimale : 667.3 Teinture et impression des tissus Résumé : This paper compares colour matching of yarn-dyed fabrics by spectrophotometric and multispectral imaging techniques. While it is well known that multispectral imaging systems can measure the colour of fabrics that cannot be acquired by spectrophotometers, comparison of these two types of instrument has not yet been well explored. Colour measurements of 44 pairs of standard and batch solid-colour yarn-dyed fabrics by means of a Datacolor 650 spectrophotometer and an imaging colour measurement (ICM) multispectral imaging system were compared. Experimental results show that the ICM system has the capability to measure similar hue a* differences and larger lightness L* and hue b* differences than the Datacolor 650 spectrophotometer. When the tolerance of colour matching is set to 1.0 CMC(2:1) (colour difference) unit, the ICM system can achieve the same colour matching results as the Datacolor 650 spectrophotometer, except for two dark samples. Textiles et tissus imprimésIndex. décimale : 667.3 Teinture et impression des tissus Résumé : Automatic colour-patterned fabric-defect detection is essential and challenging in controlling manufacturing quality. Because of the scarcity of defective colour-patterned fabric samples and the imbalance of defect types, an auto-encoder trained with defect-free samples is used. However, the auto-encoder sometimes has weak generalisation ability, leading to mis- or over-detection of defects. An unsupervised and memorising defect-free method is proposed for colour-patterned fabric defects. The method designs a memory-guided quantisation variational auto-encoder-2 model and improves the residual post-processing operation. Specifically, it has three significant characteristics. First, it avoids time-consuming and laborious manually labelled samples and only needs defect-free samples in the training phase. Second, we expect the reconstruction image to be a defect-free image. Thus, memory modules are introduced to encourage the model to memorise the features of defect-free samples, which help to remove the image defect areas at the testing stage. Third, to further improve the detection accuracy, the closing operation is used to deal with the residual image that is calculated between the tested and the corresponding reconstructed image. Extensive experiments on various representative fabric samples demonstrated the effectiveness and superiority of the proposed method.
