Index. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Zirconia nanoparticles synthesized by the sol–gel method were surface modified by the coupling agent, 3-(trimethoxy silyl) propyl methacrylate (MSMA), containing C=C bonds. These particles were then UV-cured together with the hexa-functional monomer, dipentaethritol hexaacrylate (DPHA), to prepare transparent coatings that exhibited antistatic property on plastic substrates. FTIR and solid 29SiNMR were used to analyze the chemical bonds in the formed particles and coatings. Dynamic light scattering measurement of the modified ZrO2 sol indicated a relatively small particle size distribution, 1.5–20 nm, with a maximum intensity at ~5.5 nm. These particles dispersed uniformly in the organic host, poly(DPHA), as was manifested by the high resolution SEM images of the coatings. Antistatic performance of the coatings was examined based on the surface resistivity measurements. A resistivity of 7.74 × 108 ?/? suited to common antistatic applications could be attained for coatings containing 10% inorganic component. In addition, all of the prepared coatings were very hard with pencil hardness 7H–8H, and they attached perfectly to the PMMA substrate according to the peel test. Aimed at the synthesis of waterborne polyurethane dispersions, a one-step method was conducted on the prepolymers and the main raw materials, isophorone diisocyanate (IPDI), polycaprolactone diol (PCL), 1,4-butanediol (BDO), 2,2-dimethylol butyric acid (DMBA), (3-aminopropyl) triethoxysilane (APTES), triethylamine (TEA) and solvent water, were adopted. Subsequently, the water-based nail enamel together with its dry film was prepared by pigments and functional additives. Morphological characteristics and chemical composition of dry film of nail enamel were characterized by using atomic force microscopy (AFM) and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). The crystallinity of film was analyzed by an X-ray diffractometer (XRD). Benefiting from a thermogravimetric analyzer (TG) and differential thermal analyzer (DSC), the thermal properties of the prepared film were characterized. The hardness, adhesion, glossiness, water absorption, drying time and some other indicators of the water-based nail enamel were tested using a loading pencil hardness tester and other equipment. The experimental results showed the waterborne polyurethane modified by silane coupling agent exhibited favorable film-forming property, glossiness, flexibility, hardness, and adhesion and can be used for developing the environmentally friendly water-based nail enamel with a concentration of silane coupling agent of 1.5%, showing a broad market prospect in the cosmetics field. Transparence (optique)Index. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : An acrylic copolymer containing epoxy groups was synthesized by free radical polymerization of glycidyl methacrylate, methyl methacrylate and butyl acrylate. Afterwards, polyhexamethylene guanidine hydrochloride (PHMG) was chemically bonded with the resin through a reaction between the epoxy groups of the resin and the amino groups of PHMG to generate non-leaching and permanent antimicrobial acrylic coating. When the content of PHMG reaches 1.0 wt%, the inhibition factors against E. coli and S. aureus were respectively 99.992% and 99.994%, and the antimicrobial coating retains an excellent antimicrobial property even after being laundered with detergent solution. Moreover, the hydrophilicity of the antimicrobial coating was increased after the introduction of polar PHMG.
Transparence (optique)Index. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : New high refractive index monomer of 2,5-bis(methylallyl thioester)-thiadiazole (BMATETDZ) containing thioester and dithiazole was synthesized by a one-step condensation reaction with methyl acryloyl chloride and 2,5-dimercaptothiadiazole (DTD). N–N=(C), C=O, and C–S with high molar refraction groups were introduced into the structure of BMATETDZ. FTIR and 1H NMR were used to characterize the molecular structure of BMATETDZ. The refractive index of BMATETDZ was 1.661. The coatings of poly (2,5-bis(methylallyl thioester)-thiadiazole) (C-PBMATETDZ) on polyethylene terephthalate (PET) film were prepared by photopolymerization under UV irradiation. The C-PBMATETDZ coatings exhibited better comprehensive properties with high refractive index, high hardness, good adhesive force, excellent thermal stability, and high transparency in range of 200–900 nm. Structure chimiqueIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Colloidal silica nanoparticles synthesized from tetraethoxysilane via a sol–gel process were surface-modified first by 3-(trimethoxysilyl)propyl methacrylate, and then by trimethylethoxysilane (TMES). The former agent acts both as a coupling agent and as a C=C provider, whereas the latter agent is used to prevent particle aggregation and to increase hydrophobicity of the coating. The modified silica particles were UV-cured together with the monomer, 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate (2-HEMA), and the crosslinking agent, dipentaerythritol hexaacrylate (DPHA), to form highly transparent hard coatings on plastic (PMMA and PET) substrates. Both differential scanning calorimetric and thermal gravimetric analyses of the hybrid materials indicated enhanced thermal stability with respect to the neat HEMA–DPHA copolymer. Furthermore, due to the incorporation of TMES, hydrophobicity of the hybrid coating increased considerably with increasing modified silica content. In the extreme case, an antiabrasive hard coating (7H on PMMA) with a water contact angle of 99° was obtained at the silica content of 15 wt%.
