Teinture -- Fibres textilesIndex. décimale : 667.3 Teinture et impression des tissus Résumé : This paper describes the reaction of the simplest isocyanate, isocyanic acid, conveniently generated in situ from sodium cyanate, with nucleophilic carboxylate and amino residues in polyamide fibres. Changing the pH conditions greatly affects the outcome of these reactions: under acidic conditions the carboxylate residues are selectively carbamoylated, whereas under neutral conditions both residues are carbamoylated. Such modifications greatly change the dyeing behaviour of the treated substrates. The carboxylate carbamoylation reaction leads to the formation of amides rather than the carbamoylcarboxylate, which is a reactive intermediate.

Revêtements:PeintureIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Solvent-free polyurethanes, polyureas, and polyurethane/polyurea hybrid technologies have shown promise for immersion service in various market segments.
A wide array of solvent-free technologies of this type can be formulated to have a plethora of chemical physical properties by carefully selecting the amines, polyols, or a combination thereof. This is particularly true for the polyurethanes and polyurethane hybrids.
Solvent-free polyurethanes, polyureas, and polyurethane/polyurea hybrid technologies can be used in either a pure form or when slightly modified to customize required performance properties.Note de contenu : - LINING SELECTION : THE INFLUENCE OF CHEMISTRY IN POLYURETHANE, POLYUREA AND HYBRIDS

RevêtementsIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : The problem of adhesion of polyurethane foams to fluoropolymer permanent release mold coatings was studied. Two coatings, based on polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) and perfluoroalkoxy polymer (PFA) aqueous dispersions, respectively, were applied on aluminum plates, and the foam release performance evaluated. The PTFE coating displayed gradual loss of antiadhesion properties with consecutive exposure to the reactive mixture, which was associated with isocyanate surface penetration. Penetrant mass uptake experiments, performed on free films, indicated that PTFE retains about 10 times more isocyanate than PFA, probably because of its porous surface morphology. A synergistic effect was found by applying a very small quantity of a waterborne release agent on the PTFE coating, before every foam molding cycle. The release agent formed a protective barrier that minimized contact of the coating with the reactive mixture, allowing for stable and robust foam release performance. The problem of polyurea build-up, associated with the use of aqueous release agents, was not observed because of the small amounts of compound used. SilanesIndex. décimale : 668.3 Adhésifs et produits semblables Résumé : The advantages of silane-modified polymeric binders have been recognized in coatings, adhesives and sealants markets. The increased accessibility of isocyanate silanes to the market will allow this technology to grow further, due to processing simplicity and applicability to a wide range of polymers.
The use of isocyanate silanes and polyols to make precursors for elastomeric sealants generally provides silylated polymers with lower viscosity than that obtained by other methods. easier formulation and mixing is one benefit.
As with conventional polyurethanes, the properties of these SPUR polymers can be tailor-made to range from low modulus to high modulus to meet the demands of different markets. These silane-terminated prepolymers may be used for formulating on-part room temperature moisture-cure sealants or adhesives with identified benefits such as superior adhesion performance, UV stability/weatherability and chemical resistance. Moreover, the characteristic of relatively fast cure makes the isocyanate silane-capped SPUR technology worth examining for insulated glass and automotive windshield sealant applications.
The aliphatic isocyanate groups of Silquest A-Link 35 and Silquest A-Link 25 silanes allow them to be used in the modification of a wide range of polymers that contain functional groups of OH, SH and NH2. The modification process can be carried out in different types of apparatus. The silane-modified polymers provide the enhanced mechanical properties, excellent adhesion and improved high-fail temperature in shear that can especially beneficial to hot melt adhesives.Note de contenu : - Preparation of sealants based on SPUR prepolymers
