High transfer efficiency not only helps meet environmental regulations and cut, costs but also provides a safer work place. Electrodeposition is one of the techniques which are capable to meet these requirements. These finishes were based on these copolymer resins of thermoplastic and thermosetting types. Both the types of copolymers were neutralised with triethylamine and made water compatible with the help of cosolvent butylcellosolve. Pigments and additives were added accordingly in the preparation of these novelty finishes. Special application techniques were used to apply these coatings (finishes). The particle size of these miniemulsions depends essentially on th shear force exerted when the monomers are dispersed in water. Incorporating strong acid into a polymer bacbone of bimodal copolymer provides an improvement in stain blocking, bloc resistance, hiding and shear stability.
