PerméabilitéIndex. décimale : 675 Technologie du cuir et de la fourrure Résumé : We have constructed a model of air permeability taking into account appropriate parameters. Two of the parameters which represent the capillary radius and the amount of capillaries in a definite area of leather, respectively r and n have been deduced.
Researches on the locational differences in air permeability based on the model, show that different locations of leather have different values for r and n. The capillary radius of samples near the head location ranges from 452.9nm to 479.1nm, while the quantity of capillaries in the same sample is the greatest, from 7.948 x 1011/m2 to 8.617 x 1011/m2. The capillary radius (r) of a sample from a near centre location is the largest at 581.0nm and the capillary amount (n) is the lowest at only 5.262 x 1011/m2. The capillary radii of samples near the tail and centre of the leather are about 530nm.
Neither the thickness nor aperture ratio can successfully represent the air permeability of leathers. The air permeability process is rather complex. Using only the capillary radius (r) or the quantity of capillaries in a definite area (n) does not allow us to express the air permeability adequately.Note de contenu : - Foundation of the air permeability model and the deduction of parameters

The results show that the physicalmechanical properties and cleaning properties of the leather samples finished with the acrylic-resin/nano-SiO2 composite increase noticeably. As examples, water vapour penetration and air permeability improved by 11.5% and 15.4%, dry rub fastness and folding strength [flexing] of the leather finished with the composite resin were also, to a degree, superior to that finished by the acrylic resin. The surface morphology observed by SEM (scanning electron microscope-energy spectrum of X-ray analysis) and AFM (atomic force microscope) indicated that the surface of the leather finished with the composite resin is smoother than that of leathers finished with the acrylic resin. Les exemples de fils texturés par fausse torsion sont : Superloft®, Flufflon® et Hélanca®.Index. décimale : 677.4 Textiles artificiels Résumé : False twist draw-textured yarns were prepared using single heater and double heater of the texturing machine. Fabrics were prepared using these yarns as weft and fabrics were tested for handle, crease recovery, abrasion and air permeability. The results revealed that double heater draw-textures yarn-fabrics manufactured using primary as well as secondary heater can produce fabrics with better drapability, crease recovery and air permeability as compared to stretched yarn fabrics. Vapeur d'eauIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : In this research, toluene diisocyanate-2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate (TDI-HEMA) adduct was used to modify the hydroxyl groups on cellulose acetate butyrate (CAB) structure. The obtained oligomer was characterized by Fourier transform infrared and proton nuclear magnetic resonance (1H NMR) spectroscopies, and gel permeation chromatography, respectively. Then, the UV-cured free films of the modified CAB oligomers were investigated in terms of thermal degradation, physicochemical, wettability, and mechanical properties. The chemical modification process was performed in various percentages; then, the contribution of the unreacted hydroxyl groups of CAB on the wettability, thermal degradation, and air/water vapor permeability properties were all investigated. The mechanical properties, thermal stability, and surface wettability character of pure CAB were improved with TDI-HEMA adduct modification. Electrospinning was used to obtain a fibrous layer in order to search the air/water vapor permeability properties. Modification of CAB caused decline in air/water vapor barrier character and thus enhanced the permeability properties. Textiles et tissus synthétiquesIndex. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : This study focuses on fabrication of aerogel-coated macroporous polyester fabrics for the purposes of filtration of nanometric airborne particles and potential application in facemasks. Syndiotactic polystyrene (sPS) and polyimide (PI) gels that provide respectively majority macropores (diameter > 50 nm) and mesopores (diameter 2 to 50 nm) are coated onto woven polyester fabrics via a dip coating process. The resultant materials are supercritically dried to obtain aerogelcoated fabrics. The results show that sPS is more suitable for the dip coating process. However, evaporation of the solvent during handling of gel-coated fabrics leads to closure of the surface pores that are later recovered via solvent annealing. The resultant aerogel-coated fabrics offer high air permeability (∼10–10 m2) and high filtration efficiency (> 99.95%) of airborne sodium chloride test particles of size 25 to 150 nm.
