Résumé : |
This paper discusses lan treatment as an alternative method to treat wastewaters and sludges from leather manufacturing. Concepts from environmental, civil and agricultural engineering are presented in three parts. The first part is a general description of principles, terminology, operating systems and applicability to tanneries. Following sections are more technical, covering stabilization mechanisms in soil, and hydrolic and other process controls to promote efficiency and environmental safety. A conceptual model of waste and liquid movement in soil is developed in order that process design can be done as in conventional waste treatment plants. The hoped-for result is optimum communication between wastewater generators, regulators, consultants and treatment system operators. An extensive reference list is included to assist in further study. |
