Résumé : |
Acrylic resins - Solution polymerization of acrylic acid was studied using IMS as a solvent and benzoyl peroxide as an initiator by varying the monomer content in the reaction mixture and also by varying concentration of initiator. It was found that the samples having monomer content 40 % or less can be polymerized smoothly. The polymerization rate, time and temperature can be controlled by varying the monomer content in the reaction mixture. The softening point of the polyacrylic acid was found to be in the range of 105°C to 125°C. |
