Radiation curing - industrial wood parquet is generally finished wth UV varnish for aesthetic reasons as well as to protect against chemicals attack and mechanical damage. The first coat applied to the wood is very important: it needs to give a good natural wood appearance and the adhesion necessary to get good mechanical properties. UV curable partially water soluble products, UV curable polyurhetane dispersions and UV curable epoxy acrylate containing 100% solids have been compared. The results obtain with the broad choice of materials should enable the user to select a product to meet technical requirements and fit into their production line configuration. |
