Texturation -- Appareils et matérielsIndex. décimale : 677 Textiles Résumé : Machine downtime is a serious threat and ultimately has a significant effect on overall productivity. By addressing the root causes of machine downtime and implementing effective time management strategies, the draw-texturing in this work was able to optimize their production processes and ensure smooth operations in manufacturing. The probable threats should be resolved on priority so that they do not result in a loss of productivity. This research article comprises time management in the draw-texturing department, where 2 PET POY deniers (120/36 and 250/48) were used for the research on DTY (draw-textured yarn) production and the breakages and machine stop times. The study found satisfactory results by minimizing machine down time from 4.21 to 1 minute, which helped to reduce the efficiency loss from 4.06 to 1.1 %. Note de contenu : - Materials and methods

Polyéthylène téréphtalateIndex. décimale : 677.4 Textiles artificiels Résumé : Structural properties of PET filament largely depend on the several factors such as yarn types, filament, fineness and shapes etc. which are the detrimental factors considered for the extent of deformations. The draw ratio, heater temperature and post spinning operations decide the nature of the filament and its applicability. This work was carried out to determine the structural difference between partially oriented yarns (POY) and draw-textured yarns (DTY). For both the types, PET was considered to be the base material. The manufactured POY package was processed on draw-textured machine with standard settings, processed POY denier was 160/144 and it was observed for the testing of tenacity, elongation and boiling water shrinkage. Favorable transformation of cheaper and stronger flat filament feeder yarn structure to favorable crimpy/bulky yarn structure was an added gain of this production process. All the samples also showed good crimp associated properties. Thus newly designed draw-textured fancy yarn will add considerable value along with added comfort to apparel textiles as well as home furnishing. Polyéthylène téréphtalateIndex. décimale : 668.5 Parfums et cosmétiques Résumé : The effect of fiber cross-sectional shape on the structure and properties of polyester (PET) yarns have been investigated by the selection of partially oriented polyester yarn (PET POY), which was produced under the same spinning conditions through different spinnerets in a melt spinning plant. The only difference between the fibers are the cross-sectional shapes of spinneret. The different cross-sectional shapes were selected for the experimental work viz. circular, hollow, trilobal, octalobal and delta. The specialty spinnerets which produced yarn will be considered for different applications in carpets and home textiles, whereas circular cross-section yarn will be considered for denim fabric manufacturing. The major difference within the cross-sectional shapes are influenced due to their modulus, higher strain, yield stress, and boiling water shrinkage. No effects on the crystallinity and higher stress were deter¬mined. It was found that 350/96 PET POY shows improved results with circular cross-section at all stages. Traction (mécanique)Index. décimale : 677.4 Textiles artificiels Résumé : In this study, dtex 84 and polyester filament yarns were prepared with varying spinning conditions and a process was investigated and the effect of different spinning processing parameters including D/Y ratio, twist, heater temperature, winding speed, the draw ratio of fully drawn yards was studied. Finally, the tensile properties of the yarns were analyzed. The results show that the increasing winding speed process had a significant effect on the elongation CV%, U%, ans shrinkage of the yarns, but tenacity had no significant impact on yarn properties. Fully drawn yards (FDY) was produced by a process similar to POY (partially oriented yarn) manufacturing, except that the yarn is produced at higher spinning speeds coupled with intermediate drawing integrated in the process itself. This allows stabilization through orientation and crystallisation. Yarns are produced by a continuous polymerization process. All critical yarns properties such as tenacity, elongation, Uster variation and boiling water shrinkage are closely monitored and controlled. Controlled interlace enables the yarns to be twisted or sized in subsequent operations. Note de contenu : - FEATURES OF FDY
