Siccatives - Modern alkyd paints are subject to growing demands on the reduction in VOC emissions. HIgh-solids systems are one possible reponse to this need. For these, high-solids driers based on metal carboxylates dissolved in reactive fatty acid esters offer a solvent-free alternative to conventional siccatives. Specially, new driers based on manganese instead of the more and more discredited cobalt help users reduce VOCs and develop high-solids paints without having to sacrifice the proven drying properties. |
