Résumé : |
Paint additives - A range of fongicide and algaecides are available that can be incorporated into masonry paints and plaster to protect against microbial attack. However, new labelling regulations from the EU means that use of some of these fongicides and algaecides could be restricted. Unlike most of the conventional additives, which fonction as either fongicides or algaecides, zinc pyrithione displays potent antimicrobial activity towards fongi and algae and to a lesser extent, bacteria. Long term exposure tests have shown that zinc pyrithione is an attractive alternative to conventional fongicide/algaecide blends that would not require any labelling in the finished paint. |
