Résumé : |
This study concerns the possible application of fluorinated surface-active agents in different processes of leather manufacture.
The fluorinated surface-active agents employed in this study are characterised by a very high superficial activity demonstrated by a greater wetting capacity which is imparted in several systems.
Two tanning processes were selected - dyeing and chrome tanning - to test the repercussion of fluorinated surface-active agents in the improvement of contact between a solid (leather) and a liquid (liquor bath), i.e., the use of such surface-active agents as aids in the rupture between heteroeneous phases. The diffusion through the leather fibres of anionic dyes and of tanning Cr+ cationic complexes has also been studied. For this work an anionic surface-active agent was selected for the dyeing process and a cationic surface-active agent for the chrome-tanning process. |
