Marine coating - Antifouling (AF) coatings are used to control fouling on ship hulls and work by releasing biocides into the water which need to be monitored for environmental impact. This paper reports results from an experiment, conducted in accordance with the published ASTM method so that repeatability statements could be developed. This study provides a comparison to the 1990 ISO round robin study of a related method and highlights the need for improvements in order to better interpret biocide release rate data generated by this standard protocol. |
