Résumé : |
Fonctional coatings - The encapsulation of solid, inorganic or organic, hydrophobic or hydrophilic material into a polymer shell is of great importance for many applications. The solid can be protected against the environment (or vice versa) by the polymer shell. The miniemulsion process is a recently developped encapsulation method that uses high shear devises such as ultrasound and high pressure homogenisers in combination with some applied physical chemistry to create droplets or nanoreactors with diameters down to 30-100 nm, preserving the integrity of each single nanodroplet. The enables a whole set of new reactions leading to nanoparticles that were not accesible before. |
