The standard coating contains white TiO2 with 17 % pigment volume concentration (PVC). Dry white coating with more than 134 µm thickness is opaque and used as a dispersion medium for colored pigments. The reflectances of the coatings of white TiO2 and three kinds of colored pigments (perylene black, toluidine red, and benzidine yellow) to solar radiation are measured by means of a UV-3100 recording spectrophotometer operating in the 250~2500 nm spectral range. It is found that the plots of lg 1/R (R, reflectance of coating to solar radiation) against Vcolored/VTiO2 (volume ratio of the colored pigment to TiO2 in coating) are straight lines of increasing slopes in the range of Vcolored/VTiO2 less than five percent. From the slopes of the straight lines, the absorption coefficients of colored pigments can be measured quantitatively. Traîtements de surfaceIndex. décimale : 667.3 Teinture et impression des tissus Résumé : Wool is a natural biopolymer with special properties, including warmth retention and skin-friendliness. However, its application in the textile industry is limited by the scale layer that covers its surface, which prevents the efficient diffusion of dye into the interior of its fibres, and increases wool's susceptibility to shrinkage during washing. Here, dissolution with sodium bisulphite is used for wool surface modification. The properties of surface dissolved wool are comprehensively characterised, including strength loss, shrinkage rate and dyeability. The three-dimensional images indicated that scale layer was etched. Coupled with Fourier-transform infrared (FTIR) spectra, the test results of strength loss and shrinkage rate indicated that surface dissolution degree can be controlled by time and temperature, and that the process does not break the fibre's main body structure. Dyeability properties, including dye absorption rate, deepness and uniformity at a lower temperature were enhanced, indicating amenability to industrial production. Our findings highlight a novel, efficient method of modifying protein fibre surface for enhancing properties with potential for large-scale application. Alginate de sodiumL'alginate de sodium ou polymannuronate sodique, de formule NaC6H7O6 est un additif alimentaire (E401) utilisé dans les boissons, constitué d’alginate et de sodium. Il se présente sous forme de poudre blanche à blanc crème, inodore et sans saveur, très soluble dans l'eau. Péroxydase de raifortLa peroxydase de raifort (HRP, en anglais horseradish peroxidase) est une enzyme provenant comme son nom l'indique du raifort, très utilisée en biochimie de par son action catalytique des réactions de réduction. Elle est plus particulièrement utilisée lors de protocoles de détection de molécules lors d'immunohistochimie ou d'immuno-blot (western blot), ainsi que pour son action catalytique lors des réactions d’oxydo-réductions.
HPR catalyse des réactions de la forme AH2 +H2O2 → A+2H2O, où AH2 joue le rôle de réducteur et H2O2 d’oxydant. (NaBO3 peut être utilisé à la place de H2O2).
Son poids moléculaire est de 30 kDa.

Herein, we synthesised sodium alginate-g-poly (acrylic acid) (NaAlg-g-PAA) as a novel printing thickener via catalysis of horseradish peroxidase and hydrogen peroxide in the presence of acetylacetone. The synthesised products were characterised by Fourier Transform–infrared spectroscopy and polar nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, which confirmed that the PAA was successfully grafted onto the hydroxyl groups at carbon atoms (C2) of sodium alginate. The optimal grafting percentage and grafting efficiency reached 51% and 96%, respectively. Compared with native sodium alginate, the grafted copolymer NaAlg-g-PAA exhibited better thermal stability, rheological and printing properties. This work provides an efficient and promising approach for modifying polysaccharides like alginates and could be used as an alternative to conventional chemical modification. LaccasesLes laccases (EC 1.10.3.2) appartiennent à une famille d'enzymes ayant pour cofacteur du cuivre. C'est une oxydase (oxydoréductase, EC 1) que l'on retrouve dans de nombreuses plantes, champignons et micro-organismes.
Le cuivre est lié sur plusieurs sites de la protéine. On distingue trois types. Les types 2 et 3 sont appelés grappe tri-nucléaire. Le cuivre du type 1 est soluble dans l'eau. Le mercure déplace le cobalt complexé dans les laccases. Les complexants du cuivre peuvent le déplacer et le remplacer par du cobalt. Les cyanures complexent également le cuivre, mais dans ce cas il n'est pas possible de réinsérer du cobalt.
Les laccases oxydent les dérivés phénoliques mais d'une façon ménagée qui transforme la lignine en monolignol.

In order to improve the dyeing properties of enzymatically coloured fabrics, a novel strategy using 1-ethyl-3-(3-dimethylaminopropyl)carbodiimide hydrochloride (EDC), a biological coupling agent, to pretreat wool fabric was employed in this paper. Enzymatic coloration of wool fabrics with syringic acid was carried out in the presence of laccase from Trametes versicolor. The effect of different periods on laccase-catalysed polymerisation of syringic acid was examined by UV-vis spectroscopy. Enzymatic coloration results of dyed wool fabrics were evaluated by means of K/S value and colour difference (?E*). Process parameters, including the dosages of syringic acid and incubation time, that influenced the colour depth were studied. Meanwhile, the colour fastness and levelness of dyed wool fabrics were tested. The results showed that the UV-vis absorbance of reaction solution increased as oxidation time elapsed, and a new peak appeared at 360 nm. After pretreatment, the K/S values and colour difference values of wool fabrics dyed with poly(syringic acid) improved appreciably compared with the control samples without any pretreatment. Moreover, pretreated wool fabrics showed better dyeing fastness and levelness than control samples. The electrodeposition was carried out by adding the SiC nanoparticles to a nickel-containing bath. Nickel deposition processes were analyzed by cathodic polarization curves, and the plating parameters were determined preliminarily by analyzing the effects of different technological parameters on the deposition process. Then, electrocodeposition processes were carried out with different concentrations of SiC nanoparticles in the bath. The effects of current density, stirring rate, and SiC nanoparticle’s concentration in the plating bath on the hardness of coatings were investigated by microhardness tests. Besides the microhardness tests, wearing tests and corrosion tests were also applied to the coatings with the highest hardness and coatings of pure nickel. The structures and surface morphologies of the coatings were examined by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) methods. The experimental results show that the microhardness of the codeposited coating increases with increasing current density and attains a maximum at the SiC concentration of 6 g/L. The decrease in the microhardness at higher SiC concentrations may be due to agglomeration of nanosized particles in the plating bath. Increasing the stirring speed did not give a better quality deposition as coatings produced at low stirring rates always had higher microhardness values than did those at high stirring rates. Furthermore, the Ni–SiC nanocomposite coatings have lower friction coefficient and better corrosion resistance than those of pure nickel coatings.
