Résumé : |
New generations of coatings have been developed called paramagnetic coatings. These are based on a special polymer embedded with superparamagnetic materials such as iron oxide particles or other paramagnetic ions. The orientation of nanoscale crystalline particles or iron oxide is controlled using a low grade magnetic field which is used to effect the spacing of the colloidal crystals and thereby controlling their ability to reflect light and change color. These coatings also find applications in medical field such as medical devices to make them visible inside the body with MRI, EPR Oximetry for measuring oxygen concentration in tissues, pain relief compositions, etc. |
