The amount of the polyfunctional groups bonded to polymer structures changed depending on the molecular weight of the polymer, and more functional groups connected to the highest-molecular-weight fraction. The amount of the bonded functional groups was determined with the chemical analysis method. The structures of PS functionalized with anhydrides were confirmed by FTIR, 1H NMR, and thermogravimetric studies. Their adhesion capability and corrosion resistance against metals have been investigated under various conditions. The results showed that the addition of functional groups to PS increases its adhesion capability and corrosion resistance. This increase is attributed to the quantity of the functional groups bonded to PS. Note de contenu : - Materials

Résonance magnétique nucléaireIndex. décimale : 668.9 Polymères Résumé : Polystyrene (PS) has been chemically modified with cyclic anhydrides such as glutaric anhydride (GA), citraconic anhydride (CA) and phthalic anhydride (PA) in the presence of BF3.O(C2H5)2in chloroform and succinic anhydride (SA) in 1,2-dichloroethane. Some important reaction parameters were determined in order to optimize the acylation process. ATR FTIR and1H NMR studies indicate that the acylation reaction can introduce both carboxyl group and double bond (for only citraconic anhydride) onto pendant aromatic groups of the polymer. The adhesion properties and corrosion resistance of the acylated PS on metal surface under various conditions have been investigated. Produits de nourriture du cuirIndex. décimale : 675 Technologie du cuir et de la fourrure Résumé : 12-hydroxystearate diethanolamine, an intermediate for a leather fatliquoring agent, was prepared by two-step synthesis of amidation reaction and ammonolysis reaction through vacuum distillation dehydration, using 12-hydroxystearic acid and diethanolamine as raw materials. Through single factor experiments, the optimised synthesis conditions were determined as follows: the molar ratio of 12-hydroxystearic acid to diethanolamine was 1:1.03, and the temperature of the first amidation reaction was 135°C and the reaction time was 4 hours. In the second step of ammonolysis reaction, the reaction temperature was 70°C, the amount of sodium ethylate (sodium ethoxide) used as catalyst was 1.5% of the mass of 12-hydroxystearic acid, and the reaction time was 2 hours. Under the optimised conditions, the yield of the product could reach 90.9%. The structures of 12-hydroxystearate diethanolamide were characterised by FTIR spectrum.
