The term amino resin refers to a group of viscous, thermosetting amino-group-containing components that have use in curing with other resins to form a cross-linked network. They are widely used as cross-linking agents for hydroxyl, carboxyl and amide functional polymers. Note de contenu : - Melamine-based amino resins

VernisIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Tinplate cans internally coated with three commercial lacquer systems were studied. The relationship found between lacquer adhesion, metallic chromium (CrM), chromium oxide (CrOx), and total chromium (CrT) existing in the passivated layer was : adhesion=CrM+10 (CrOx/CrT). The study was completed by conducting electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and direct current (DC) polarization experiments up to 410 days. A dilute acetic acid-sodium chloride solution was used as electrolytic and a full opened can was used as the working electrode and an electrolyte cell. Iron dissolution was determined by atomic absorption spectrophotometry (AAS). The EIS, DC, and AAS techniques gave similar results. Passivation treatment did not substantially affect the porosity results. Permalink : https://e-campus.itech.fr/pmb/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=18264

VernisIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : In the present work, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) is explored as a tool for evaluating the quality of coatings on food cans. The properties of the coating-metal interface are evaluate using an equivalent electrical circuit representing intact and defect coating areas. The element corresponding to the charge transfer capacitance under pores, proportional to the wetted metal surface, is found to be the most useful element for quality evaluation. It is shown that with EIS, differences can be detected between new and filled cans from different suppliers, as well as between different product formulations. Three measurement techniques, i.e., initial state characterization, rapid dc aging and long-term electrolyte aging, are applied to a series of pet-food and beveroge cans, and the results compared with the performance of the same cans after filling and storage. It 15 shown that all three measurement techniques give basic guidance as to the long-term performance of the filled cans. However, the electrolyte-aging test was found to give the best precision in the performance prediction. Note de contenu : - EXPERIMENTAL : Materials - EIS measurement routines - Methods

Matériaux -- Propriétés fonctionnellesIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Coatings are used in the canning industry to serve as barriers between the metal can and the can contents, thus protecting the contents from attack by the metal and conversely protecting the metal from attack by the contents. After can manufacture, including application of coatings inside the cans, the contents are introduced into the cans. Sealing, cooking sterilisation and pasteurisation follow.
