Both conventional rheological characterization methods and a more recent method, Fourier Transform Rheology with Large Amplitude Oscillatory Flow data (LAOS), were utilized to characterize the material with and without wall slip. Sensorial analyses were implemented in vivo to evaluate the perceived ease of initial and rub-out spreadability, cushion, pick-up and slipperiness attributes of the gels. Results were statistically analysed by both variance (ANOVA) and principle component analysis (PCA). Sensorial panel testing characteristics discriminated the three materials, and PCA analyses revealed that sensory attributes could be well predicted by rheological methods. Rheological experiments, without wall slip, revealed that gel strength in the linear viscoelastic region (LVR) and yield stress of these materials are similar, but exhibit significantly different wall slip and thixotropy behaviour in the low shear rate region under wall slip conditions. Above the critical shear rate, which corresponds to the yield stress, all tested materials did not slip and behaved as conventional, shear thinning polymeric fluids. In particular, the rheological parameters and sensorial perception of the 1% cross-linked vinyl pyrrolidone/acrylic acid copolymer were significantly affected by wall slip and/or thixotropy-related shear banding phenomena.

The optical, thermal, and mechanical properties were examined for the blend specimens prepared by an injection-molding machine using melt-mixed samples. It was found that the copolymers, which were miscible with PMMA, increase the glass transition temperature and therefore the Vicat Softening temperature. Furthermore, the blends were completely transparent as similar to PMMA. Note de contenu : - Materials

UltrasonsIndex. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : In this paper, ultrasound was applied in extrusion reaction processing to graft an Elastomer (DE) with maleic anhydride (MAH), in order to improve the non-polarity of DE. Two types of DE-g-MAH were prepared by different methods and had similar grafting degree about 0.2 % and then they were added into the polyamide-6/elastomer (PA6/DE) blends, respectively. The effect of DE-g-MAH on the interfacial properties of PA6/DE blends was studied. The experimental results showed that, compared to the DE-g-MAH initiated by peroxide, DE-g-MAH initiated by ultrasound had better effect on refining the particle size of the dispersion phase and keeping the stability of the phase in the blends, which could be confirmed through SEM and Molau tests. When 5 % DE-g-MAH initiated by peroxide was added, the particle size of dispersion phase was 3.90 ?m, however, when 5 % DE-g-MAH initiated by ultrasound was added, the particle size of dispersion phase was 2.82 ?m. The results of TGA and mechanical tests showed the improved interfacial interaction and enhanced interfacial adhesion of the blend by adding DE-g-MAH, respectively. Surfactants -- SynthèseIndex. décimale : 668.1 Agents tensioactifs : savons, détergents Résumé : The synthesis of a series of sodium mono-alkylamide maleate surfactants was described, and the surface activity properties of the surfactants were studied. The mono-alkylamide maleic acids were synthesized by amidation using primary aliphatic amine (lauryl, myristyl, cetyl) and maleic anhydride as starting material. They were structurally characterized by IR,1H-NMR and MS. The sodium mono-alkylamide maleate surfactants were prepared by neutralization of the precursor mono-alkylamide maleic acids with sodium hydroxide. They reduced the surface tension of water to 32– 34 mN × m–1at concentration levels of 10–4–10–3mol × L–1. Permalink : https://e-campus.itech.fr/pmb/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=15555

In this paper the influence of conditions of using a polymeric material based on maleic acid prior to dyeing the bovine shoe upper leather was studied. According to the results of electron microscopic examination, as well as evaluation of the physico-mechanical and thermophysical properties of the leather it was revealed that the use of polymeric material contributes to the formation of structure and such important indices of the derma as tensile strength, grain strength, extension, water vapour permeability, apparent density, porosity, heat resistance and thermal absorptivity. On the basis of a generalised objective function, optimal processing variants were defined. Recommendations of leather production parameters taking into account the season of shoe exploitation (autumn/winter, spring/summer) have been made.
