Amino silicone oil was modified with the acetic anhydride to produce a fatliquoring system that yields excellent flexibility, smoothness and elasticity in the finished leathers. The effect of reaction conditions on amino conversion was studied. Results indicate that a 50 %, the reaction temperature was 50-55°C, and the reaction time was 1.5 hours. The treated leathers showed good fullness, softness, elasticity and had a silky feeling. Both the tensile strength and tearing strength of these leathers were improved (6,73 % and 2,88 %, respectively), and the elongation at break and hydrothermal shrinkage temperature were greatly improved by 30,82 % and 10°C, respectively. |
