Revêtements -- Séchage sous rayonnement ultravioletIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : This article represents work done on photoinitiators to enhance and upgrade the conventional mechanism of UV curable coatings. Hybrid organic—inorganic macro photoinitiator bearing pendant tertiary amine groups (0I-AH) was prepared by hydrolytic condensation of a silane containing amino groups. The macromolecular amino-functionalized photo-initiator was used in combination with Carnphor Quinone (CQ) for visible-light photo-polymerization. The evolution of monomer conversion versus irradiation time showed that the 0I-AH are efficient co-initiator of CQ because a fast reaction and hie, conversion result after 60 s irradiation with a LED source of 600 mW/cm2.
Polymerizable organosilicon macromolecular photo-initiator HHMP-Si-CC not only spontaneously form a
concentration gradient in the photo-polymerization system, initiate gradient photo-polymerization and effectively
mitigate inhibition of oxygen, but also overcome the migration of photolysis fragments of the photo-initiator from UV-curable material. HHMP-Si-CC should have potential applications for preparing more environnnentally friendly gradient materials.
A novel polymeric photo initiator, poly (glycidyl benzophenone ether) (PGBE), with a side-chairs benzophenone (BP) group was synthesized from poly(epichlorohydrin) and 4-hydroxybenzophenone. The obvious advantage of this initiator was the elimination of amine based hydrogen donors and to provide alternative hydrogen donors with easy availability and non-toxicity. The polymeric initiator was found to have higher efficiency than BP/E AB (Ethy14- dimethylaminolbenzoate).
Polymeric benzophenone photo-initiator (PEG-BP) was synthesized basing on polyethylene glycol (PEG), succinic anhydride, 4-hydroxy benzophenone and epichlorohydrin. The obvious advantage of this initiator was the elimination of amine based hydrogen donors and to provide alternative hydrogen donors with easily availability and non toxicity. The synthesized polymeric photo-initiators are attractive to.be used as type II photo-initiators. Moreover, the water solubility of PEG provides the use of initiating system in water-borne formulations. Therefore, it is expected that the synthesized polymeric photo-initiators are attractive to be used as type II photoinitiators.Note de contenu : - HYBRID ORGANIC-INORGANIC MACROMOLECULAR PHOTO-INITIATOR SYSTEM FOR VISIBLE-LIGHT PHOTO-POLYMERIZATION : Synthesis of hybrid organic-inorganic amine-functionalized photo-initiator (OI-AH)

Rouge carthamineIndex. décimale : 667.3 Teinture et impression des tissus Résumé : While the contribution of ultraviolet absorbers to synthetic dyes has been investigated by several workers, there have been few studies pertaining to the use of functional ultraviolet absorbers as a means of improving the light fastness of natural dyes. In this paper, numerous potential ultraviolet absorbers were prepared to prolong the life of natural dye carthamin. The effects of these compounds in reducing photofading were examined on a polymer substrate. The use of commercial ultraviolet absorbers was not necessarily useful in improving the light fastness of the colour. However, benzophenone-type ultraviolet absorbers containing a built-in ultraviolet absorber moiety markedly retarded the photofading rate. It is proposed that 2,2′,4,4′-tetrahydroxy-5-methylbenzotriazolylbenzophenone and its derivatives may be used as effective stabilisers in the fading of natural dyes. Various types of novel photoinitiators have been developed and stil under further development due to increasing demands of application and limitations of traditional photoinitiators. Minimum percentage of versatile photoinitiator with effective utilisation in UV spectrum and without any side reaction is a need of recent UV formulations as per application enhancement. Résistance au jaunissementIndex. décimale : 675 Technologie du cuir et de la fourrure Résumé : Besides quality in leather manufacture, another important factor is that the customer should use the product in the long term without any problem. However, a leather product, being a naturel structure, can age because of environmental conditions such as UV, temperature, and humidity, and its chemical and physical structure can change with lime. Some leather products in particular such as upholstery leathers which are exposed to sunlight can be aged and yellowed by the effects of UV light and temperature. Therefore, there is a need to prevent ageing and yellowing. UV absorbers are often used in various products such as cosmetics and polymeric materials to prevent the destructive effects of ultraviolet radiation. The aim of this work was to study use of the UV absorber benzophenone-4 in reducing yellowing. Chrome-tanned and vegetable-tanned crust leathers were given a coating of hydro lacquer (lacquer emulsion) including the UV absorber benzophenone-4 as a finishing process. After exposure to monochromatic UV light at a wavelength of 340nm for 24, 48, 72, 96, 120, 144 or 168 hours at approximately 80°C. The results were investigated by CIE Lab Colour measurement and by FTIR-ATFI spectrophotometer. Note de contenu : - MATERIALS AND METHODS : Materials - Methods -
