Software - An FE simulation program developed by the Institute for Plastics Processing (IKV) at Aachen University for 3D modelling of the injection moulding process on the basis of volume elements was expanded to include a module for calculating pathlines. Colour injected into the polymer melt provided experimental confirmation of the trajectory of the calculated pathlines. The insights gained made the 3D simulation software more efficient. |
