In order to achieve some optimum key properties such as high and broadband microwave absorbing properties, low density, and relatively low cost, a gradient structure and alternating multilayer structure are used simultaneously. The effect of a single layer containing one type of filler, single layer containing several types of fillers, and multilayer structures on mentioned key parameters are investigated. The electromagnetic parameters and the reflection loss (RL) versus frequency of samples were tested by network analyzer in the range of 2–18 GHz using the transmission/reflection method. As a final result, the multilayer MACs included nine layers in which each of the layers contained one type of the fillers (CNT, CI, and SiC) and three neat resin interlayers 2 mm in total thickness compared to other samples and provided a maximum return loss value of 17.6 dB at 08.50 GHz and an absorption bandwidth (RL < − 5 dB) of 16 GHz (2–18 GHz) with a density of 1.61 g/cm3. So, it is simply possible to obtain an efficient MAC due to suitable microwave absorbing filler distribution in multilayer coatings for any respective application. ZincIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Nanographite-zinc particles in various ratios were synthesized by high energy ball milling and dispersed in epoxy based aero grade resins for studying their microwaves absorption in the lower frequency band of 2–9 GHz using a coaxial waveguide measurement system. Morphological characterizations of the synthesized particles showed that shuttle shaped zinc is well embedded on the exfoliated nanographite particles without any agglomeration. The higher interfacial polarization of both the graphite and zinc particles contributes to the excellent electrical conductivity and hence refers it as an ideal microwave absorber in defense applications. The paint with 20% (w/v) loading of nanographite-zinc (1:1 ratio) particles is proficient in providing microwave absorption of − 18.06 dB at 8.19 GHz with a coating thickness of 1.43 mm. Results show that when the percentage of nano polymers is increased from 1% to 3%, with the presence of 2.5% of iron oxide, the reflectivity loss value rises dramatically. For the reflectivity up to 27.2dB at a frequency of 8.3 GH and a bandwidth of (8.1-8.2GH), there is a clear attenuation of the radar waves, which is confined within a bandwidth of GH (9-9.3GH). This material can be utilized as a high- efficiency radar wave absorbing applications.

Textiles et tissus à usages techniquesIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : In this study, the electromagnetic interference (EMI) and ultraviolet–infrared (UV–IR) shielding behavior of wool (WO) and cotton/elastane (CO/EL) nanocomposite fabrics have been investigated. The study aims to investigate the EMI and UV–IR shielding performance of the CO/EL and wool-based fabrics coated with carbon (C), graphite (Gr), and indium (In) nanocomposite layers. To produce nanocomposite fabric samples, these three materials were used in different compositions and the coating processes were carried out by electron cyclotron resonance (ECR) and thermal evaporation methods. Subsequently, the EMI and UV–IR measurements were performed for the coated fabric samples, and the results have been analyzed. In this study, it has been proven for the first time that the ECR coating method can be used for coating fabrics as a textile material. Finally, it is found that the C+Gr(grid filled)+In wool sample and the carbon-coated CO/EL sample have widely exhibited a significant positive effect on increasing the EMI shielding performance in the range of 18–43 and 12–18 GHz frequencies, respectively. In addition, the results show that the C+Gr(grid)+C-coated CO/EL fabric has significant potential to increase the UV–IR shielding performance. Note de contenu : - MATERIALS AND METHODS :
