Titre : Factors influencing the softness of brazilian goatskin leathers Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Y. L. Wang, Auteur ; Geoffrey E. Attenburrow, Auteur Année de publication : 1994 Article en page(s) : p. 85-87 Note générale : Bibliogr. Langues : Anglais (eng) Index. décimale : 675 Technologie du cuir et de la fourrure Résumé : The skins of a number of brazilian goats covering a range of breed, age and sex were subjected to chemical, physical and histological characterisation. Half of each skin was processed into leather and its softness assessed by hand and instrumentally using both the BLC softness gauge and a compression test. It was found that each measure of softness could be related to the apparent density of the leather which in turn was associated with both the compactness of fibre weave in the skin and the fat content of the skin. Titre : Softness - an international comparison of manual assessment against instrumental methods Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : A. W. Landmann, Auteur ; R. G. Stosic, Auteur ; J. Vaculik, Auteur ; M. Hanson, Auteur Année de publication : 1994 Article en page(s) : p. 88-92 Langues : Anglais (eng) Index. décimale : 675 Technologie du cuir et de la fourrure Résumé : An international "round robin" trial has been carried out to investagate the ability of a number of instruments to objectively measure leather softness. Also investigated was the inter-laboratory variation of the instruments tested.
Results show that as the softness range of a pack of leathers narrows, the variation of softness rankings by assessors increases. The average of the rankings of nine assessors was used to assess the ability of each instrument to measure leather softness. The instrument which performed the best in this trial was the BLC's ST300 softness tester. This instrument is also non-destructive in its application and an order of magnitude quicker in its operation (as no sample preparation is required).En ligne : https://drive.google.com/file/d/19AHK63MZOoNEfRFSsM_iKrhrqYNziobH/view?usp=drive [...] Format de la ressource électronique : Permalink : https://e-campus.itech.fr/pmb/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=8382
