Titre : Size-exclusion chromatography of organic acid-masked aluminum complexes and the determination of combined acid/aluminum ratio of the fractions Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Tingyou Zhang, Auteur ; Yasuhiro Ishii, Auteur ; Kunio Shirai, Auteur ; Yasumasa Chonan, Auteur ; Eisuke Takata, Auteur Année de publication : 1996 Article en page(s) : p. 89-94 Note générale : Bibliogr. Langues : Américain (ame) Index. décimale : 675 Technologie du cuir et de la fourrure Résumé : Four kinds of preparations of masked aluminum complexes were prepared by adding sodium citrate at 1:2, sodium tartrate at 1:2, sodium acetate at 1:4 and 3:1 equivalents to aluminum equivalent. The masked preparations were separated by size-exclusion chromatography and the fractions were analyzed for aluminum content by atomic absorption spectroscopy and for combined organic acid by ion chromatography. More than 50% of the added citrate or tartrate was taken up as an aluminum complexed component. A major proportion of polynuclear complex species combined the described acid at 0,2-0,6 equivalent ratio in the preparation. The effect of tartrate was so remarkable that it produced a considerable amount of enlarged molecular-sized complexes with tartrate content 0,6-0,8 in equivalent ratio on one hand and also produced a certain amount of small molecular-sized complexes with high tartrate contents increasing toward 1,0 in equivalent ratio on the other hand. Uptake of acetate by aluminum complex molecules was only 2,5% of the added acetate even at the addition at 3:1 equivalent ratio. However, such a high concentration of acetate broke down the size of aluminum complexes in the solution. Titre : Evaluation of the stability of organic acid-masked aluminum complexes by size exclusion chromatography Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Tingyou Zhang, Auteur ; Eisuke Takata, Auteur ; Kunio Shirai, Auteur Année de publication : 1996 Article en page(s) : p. 95-99 Note générale : Bibliogr. Langues : Américain (ame) Index. décimale : 675 Technologie du cuir et de la fourrure Résumé : Citrate, tartrate, and acetate-masked basic aluminum chloride solutions were stored in the acidic medium (pH 2.3 to 4.2) and analyzed for the proportion of polynuclear fractions of complexes by size-exclusion chromatography (SEC). Polynuclear fractions in citrate or tartrate-masked samples decreased clearly with lowering pH and prolong storage as well as with dilution as judged by SEC. In contrast, the polynuclear fractionsin acetate-masked and unmasked basic aluminum chloride indicated a significantly high stability under the same conditions. It is explained in terms of the higher stability of olated complexes that constitute the polynuclear fractions of both samples. The proposed SEC method can serve to evalute the stability of polynuclear fractions of masked aluminum tanning agents in acidic medium. A considerable improvment in covering grain damage is achieved, which leats to an upgrading of the crust leather. The fastness to light and to migration as well as the rubfastness of the leather remain unchanged and depend to a large degree on the fastness properties of the proceeding dyeing. Bryant, Auteur Année de publication : 1996 Article en page(s) : p. 104-107 Note générale : Bibliogr. Langues : Américain (ame) Index. décimale : 675 Technologie du cuir et de la fourrure Résumé : Organic microbicides and enzymes play a key role in the modern processing of quality leathers. Some concerns have been expressed in recent years regarding possible negative interaction between organic microbicides, and protease hydrolyzing enzymes which could lead to deactivation of the enzyme.
Buckman's research and development laboratories in Memphis, TN undertook a study of the interactions between select microbicides and protease based enzymatic preparations to determine the relationshpi between these additives when used in the same float. Siw commercial protease enzymes were assayed in vitro alone and in the presence of four selected industrial microbicides. MIcrobicides were tested at 300-600 ppm. The protease assay (55C, pH 7.8) utilized the water-insoluble substrate Azocoll (an azo dye-impregnated collagen).
None of the tested microbicides proveded any significant inhibition of any of the tested proteases. These results are discussed in relationto the use of organic microbicides and enzymes in modern leather processing.En ligne : https://drive.google.com/file/d/1r6hLGEhuLM-o-mSeRNhP4ArnPGWt0866/view?usp=drive [...] Format de la ressource électronique : Permalink : https://e-campus.itech.fr/pmb/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=7801
