Titre : Increase productivity : The use of products which are environmentally friendly and dispense with the need for a primer is resulting in higher productivity and better processing Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Martin Reinecke, Auteur Année de publication : 2004 Article en page(s) : p. 12-14 Langues : Anglais (eng) Index. décimale : 668.3 Adhésifs et produits semblables Résumé : High productivity, straightforward processing by means of 1-component crosslinking systems and substantial avoidance of organic solvents for better environmental friendliness - there are the key requirements that new adhesives and sealants have to satisfy today. Three developments meet these criteria in completely different ways Note de contenu : - Nanoscale silica sols for solvent-borne polychloroprene dispersions
- Heat-activatable crosslinkers for latently reactive 1-component polyurethane adhesives
- Silane-terminated polyurethane prepolymers

Titre : Economic formulations : A new polymer has been unveiled which will result in good pressure sensitive adhesives and more economical formulations for tapes and labels. Type de document : texte imprimé Année de publication : 2004 Article en page(s) : p. 20-22 Note générale : Bibliogr. Langues : Anglais (eng) Index. décimale : 668.3 Adhésifs et produits semblables Résumé : A new styrenic block copolymer (SBC) with a hybrid elastomer composition combining both isoprene and butadiene in the mid-block was unveiled. The polymer is a completely new concept that will broaden the application field of SBCs in hot-melts, resulting in good pressure sensitive adhesive performances and more economical formulations for tapes, labels and non-wovens.
Until now, two families of non-hydrogenated SBC have been widely used in Hot Melt Adhesives (HMA):
- styrene - isoprene - styrene block compolymers (SIS) and
- styrene - butadiene - styrene block compolymers (SBS).
Both families have specific properties and are used in large volumes in their respective application fields. Further, with variable successes, SIS and SBS have also been combined in a single formulation for several reasons. For instance: to make economically attractive packaging tape and disposable non-woven adhesives; to improve the hot-melt stability of adhesives; or to improve label converting (matrix stripping without adhesive threads).Note de contenu : - PSA tapes market
- Properties of the new SIBS block copolymer
- Hot melt formulation technology
- Influence of the resin aromatic content on PSA properties
- Reduced polymer content formulations
- Adhesive with low temperature tack
- Rolling ball tack
