Titre : A powder on the move : Coating of powder-coating particles with nanoparticle spacers by means of an electrostatic mixing process in liquid nitrogen Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Markus Linsenbühler, Auteur ; Karl-Ernst Wirth, Auteur Année de publication : 2002 Article en page(s) : p. 14-21 Note générale : Bibliogr. Langues : Anglais (eng) Index. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : There is a rising demand on powder coatings towards ever finer particles. However, such fine powders are more difficult to fluidise. This problem can be overcome bycoating the powder coating particles thermselves with spacer-nanoparticles, thus reducing the attractive van der Waals forces. Here, an innovative process for this particle coating is presented : The spacer particles and powder coating particles are given opposite electric charges and then mixed - both in a medium of liquid nitrogen. The procedure is promising also as a general method for mixing fine solid powsers as well. Note de contenu : - Reducing van-der-Waals attraction by using spacers
- Electrostatic charge can actively attract different particles - Liquid nitrogen is the ideal mixing medium
- Electrostatic charging with rotor/stator-system
- Nitrogen bubbles can provide turbulent mixing of fractions
- Success of particle-to-particle coating depends on the charge difference
- Improved fluidisation of powser coating particles
- Improved flow requires appropriate particle diameter ratios
- General applicability for solid powder mixingEn ligne : https://drive.google.com/file/d/1SqHvjklKPv0B3MqsyEj2ltz2X_mMTECc/view?usp=drive [...] Format de la ressource électronique : Permalink : https://e-campus.itech.fr/pmb/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=10712

Titre : Two in one : Anticorrosive titanium dioxide pigment in coil coatings Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Thomas Rentschler, Auteur ; Angela Claßen, Auteur Année de publication : 2002 Article en page(s) : p. 22-27 Note générale : Bibliogr. Langues : Anglais (eng) Index. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : A new type of an environmental friendly anticorrosive pigment was developed simultaneously providing the hiding power of a white pigment. The productis based on a specific titanium dioxide carrier material which is inorganically surface modified with chemically active anticorrosive substances. Based upon studies in coil coatings using different steel and aluminium substrates the replacement of chromates is emphasised. The new pigment offers corrosion protection and light scattering at the same time, thus opening up new opportunities for formulations of anticorrosive coatings. Note de contenu : - Coating TiO2 as a structural concept
- Anticorrosive primers protect industrial coatings
- Anticorrosive effect within solvent and waterborne systems
- Anticorrosive TiO2 stabilizes coatings against UV
- Coil coatings : thin films with good adhesive properties
- Salt spray test : minor differences on steel plates
- Salt spray test on Al plates shows substitution of SrCrO4 is possible
- Optimising of anticorrosive effec on chromate-free metal panels is necessary
- Adhesion on chromate-free Al plates is reducedEn ligne : https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Oij8_fghe5D_VLhdZGy8N1OM6frchZZU/view?usp=drive [...] Format de la ressource électronique : Permalink : https://e-campus.itech.fr/pmb/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=10713

Titre : On the road improved scratch resistance Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Ulrich Meier-Westhues, Auteur ; Thomas Klimmasch, Auteur ; Jörg Tillack, Auteur Année de publication : 2002 Article en page(s) : p. 28-34 Note générale : Bibliogr. Langues : Anglais (eng) Index. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : PUR clearcoats excelby their high resistance against acid rain (etching) and other chemicals. The appropriate selection of polyol and polyisocyanate allows deliberate control of hardness, glass transition temperature and resistance features. With increasing hardness e.g. the etch resistance rises and the scratch resistance reduces. Overcoming this difficulty of diverging scratch resistance and etch resistance will only be possible through increasing the cross-linking density while at the same time keeping a low Tg. The use of tailor-made polyols could lead to car clear coatings with increased scratch resistance in a relatively short time. Note de contenu : - With increasing hardness the etch resistance rises and the scratch resistance by contrast falls
- Nano scratch method allows differentiation between plastic deformation and fracture
- Concept : To increase the cross-linking density in the film and to keep the Tg largely constantEn ligne : https://drive.google.com/file/d/1WcEY-f1dg3RFbkLOusx6C15JAACCzgDu/view?usp=drive [...] Format de la ressource électronique : Permalink : https://e-campus.itech.fr/pmb/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=10714

Titre : Polyester polyols for water resistant polyurethane coatings Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Erwin Honcoop, Auteur ; Eric Appelman, Auteur Année de publication : 2002 Article en page(s) : p. 35-43 Langues : Anglais (eng) Index. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Polyurethanes provide an obvious way to very high performing coatings for many uses, and have found a long use in solvent borne systems. Polyurethanes can be readily made water borne and have been used successfully as such or in acrylic-urethane hybrids. However, bringing them into water has taken the shine of polyurethanes to quite an extend, because of the hydrolytic sensitivity of the commonly used adipate polyester backbones. This results in poor storage stability, and film durability. This problem can be countered through a range of hydrolytically stable polyester polyols based on dimerized fatty acids. Note de contenu : - Dimerized fatty acids
- Dimer technology gives polyurethanes more resistance
- Preparation of PU elastomers
- Water uptake and hydrolysis
- Mechanical properties : dimerbased PU behaves like a rubber
- Adhesion of dimer-based PU is improved on polar and nonpolar substrates
- PU dispersion
- Preparation of PU dispersions
- Mechanical properties : elongation
- Coating hardness of the polyurethane dispersions are comparable
- Adhesion to various substrates
- Chemical resistance and water uptake of dimer fatty acid based PU dispersions.
- PU based on dimer fatty acid resists heat, oxygen and ultraviolet radiation attack.En ligne : https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Mjd_Ywds4Hd9WZWc9HitT1sblfW-5tm5/view?usp=drive [...] Format de la ressource électronique : Permalink : https://e-campus.itech.fr/pmb/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=10715
