Titre : Grey UV-curable powder coatings Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Zeljko Jovanovic, Auteur ; Jules Lahaye, Auteur ; Hugh Laver, Auteur ; Sonia Megert, Auteur ; Conny Te Walvaart, Auteur Année de publication : 2000 Article en page(s) : p. 16-24 Note générale : Bibliogr. Langues : Anglais (eng) Index. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Much has been published on the formulation of UV-curable powder coatings, nevertheless, some colours such as yellows and greys, remain difficult to cure. In greys, titanium dioxide and a black pigment together reduce the amount of UV and blue light, respectively, that is available for the α-hydroxy ketone and bis-acyl phosphine oxide photoinitiators. However, by careful selection of the black pigment and avoidance of excessive covering power, good cure performance can be achieved. Note de contenu : - A wide processing window
- Diffuse transmittance determines through-curing
- BAPO/AHK-photoinitiator mixture beneficial
- Yellows and greys are difficult to cure
- Experimental procedure
- Formulation mixtures : black cures better than white
- Curing improves with increasing BAPO concentration
- Varying the type of black pigment changes curing performance
- Better curing at higher UV-dosages with Ga-doped lamps
- Covering power vs. curing performancePermalink : https://e-campus.itech.fr/pmb/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=11045

Titre : To develop new products by modeling Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : D. T. Wu, Auteur Année de publication : 2000 Article en page(s) : p. 42-57 Note générale : Bibliogr. Langues : Anglais (eng) Index. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : The need to develop new products frequently originates from new customer demands. These demands must first be translated to a set of new end use properties, which in turn must be translated to a set of new polymer properties. Knowing the polymer properties required, the time consuming and difficult task begins in the search for the appropriate polymers. In this paper it will be shown how modeling techniques can be used, in conjunction with personal computers and the Internet, to aid in polymer selection, design, and development. Note de contenu : - Role of personal computers and Internet resources
- More than 60 properties for more than 600 polymers
- Three methods to predict polymer properties
- The three methods complement one another
- Computerization of QSPR methods with desktop PC's
- User-friendly graphical interface
- Storing predicted as well as experimental values
- Structure library with more than 600 predrawn structures
- Easy to find polymers meeting multiple property requirements

Titre : Polyurea: A market overview Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Chris Godinich, Auteur Année de publication : 2000 Article en page(s) : p. 64-73 Langues : Anglais (eng) Index. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : US and Asia lead the global market for polyurea spray coatings. Double digit growth is foreseen as the product replaces other coatings systems which do not have its combination of fast curing or ability for application in a wide range of environmental conditions (humidity and temperature). Case studies demonstrate it has a place in the coatings world, and applications will continue to grow at a very high rate, within a global market. Though Europe has not yet experienced the same growth or acceptance as the US or Asia, it will be a very active region and target market for the next several years. Note de contenu : - To identify specific areas
- Wanted : waterproof and quick cured
- Expanding breadth of applications
- Developing partnerships with European or Asian companies to service untapped markets
- Europe should participate in the success of polyureaPermalink : https://e-campus.itech.fr/pmb/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=11050

Titre : Mechanisms of photo-oxidation of polyurethane derivatives Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Maria Paola Luda, Auteur ; Raffaele Tauriello, Auteur ; Giovanni Camino, Auteur Année de publication : 2000 Article en page(s) : p. 74-79 Note générale : Bibliogr. Langues : Anglais (eng) Index. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : The aromatic polyurethane systems tends to yellowish under the UV component of the sun light compared to the corresponding aliphatic systems. For this reason the aromatic systems can not be used for top-coating application. The mechanism of ageing of a moisture-curing aromatic polyurethane is reported: the polyether segment degrades very quickly in photo-oxidation conditions forming formate, ester and volatile products as formaldehyde and acetaldehyde. Scission of polyurethane bridges occurs at slower rate. Note de contenu : - IR spectra show the photo-oxidation behaviour
