Titre : Fatliquoring agent for improving the properties of furniture and automotive leather Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Manfred Kaussen, Auteur Année de publication : 1998 Article en page(s) : p. 16-22 Note générale : Bibliogr. Langues : Américain (ame) Index. décimale : 675 Technologie du cuir et de la fourrure Résumé : The manufacture of high quality furniture leather and of leather for the interior trim of automobiles is based on similar technology. That is why many factories which initially specialized in furniture leather have moved into the automotive segment and now either produce both types in parallel or have gone over to making nothing but automotive leather.
Despite this connection, furniture and automotive leather are very different from each other in terms of the requirements they are to meet, which are dictated by fashion and appearance in the one case, and by defined test results in the other. For this reason, it has so far been possible only in exceptional cases to produce both high-quality furniture leather and automative leather using one and the same fatliquoring agent.
Our objective was therefore to develop such a product. We saw confirmation in the fact that automative nowadays shows tendencies to more fashion leather, which call for a fatliquoring agent with a dual performance spectrum. The additional benefit or simpler logistics is incidental.
We shall go on to present our concept and the results obtained, while also highlighting areas which still present problems and where we are working on further improvements.En ligne : https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Wi4nPMKcPBvlA8dGzvZv1LKku-RExeQ7/view?usp=drive [...] Format de la ressource électronique : Permalink : https://e-campus.itech.fr/pmb/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=4525

Titre : Update on the production of automotive leathers Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Manfred Kaussen, Auteur Année de publication : 1989 Article en page(s) : p. 353-368 Note générale : Bibliogr. Langues : Américain (ame) Index. décimale : 675 Technologie du cuir et de la fourrure Résumé : The characteristics required in automotive leather are reviewed especially the low-fogging specification. Fogging desposits have been analysed, and the results are presented. The effects of various proprietary formulations on this problem are summarized, and formulations ('recipes') are given for achieving not only low-fogging characteristics but also flameproofing. ImperméabilisationIndex. décimale : 675 Technologie du cuir et de la fourrure Résumé : It is difficult to discuss a complex area such as hydrophobing and our 10-year experience of R&D in 20 minutes. We have therefore chosen this question and answer game, where we have collected and cataloged questions from practical life and we have also submitted proposals for the solution. These largely refer to a waterproofing system based on an emulsion, which is designed for the application in the drum, but which in many cases has generally valid character. Note de contenu : - What does the tanner have to observe when producing waterproof-leathers ?
- How do you achieve high and safe waterproofing ?
- How does the hydrophobing agent influence the finish ?
- How does the finish influence hydrophobing ?
- How does fixing influence the hydrophobic result ?
- How can vegetable leathers be waterproofed ?
- Where are unexpected risk factors for waterproofing ?
- Which are the advantages and benefits of this waterproofing system ?
- How do you obtain a standard waterproofed upper leather ?
- How do you produce tight grained, waterproofed leathers ?
